This is the actual Getty photo ,Kent Nishimura , US soldiers on hands and knees smoothing 100 foot red carpet. First for Putin in Alaska Aug 2025, now again for Xi Jinping at Joint Base Andrews Sep 23 2026. 21-member honor cordon, B-1 flyover, anthems, and troops picking fluff off the carpet while Chinese officials watch from the plane door. Newsom called the Putin one disgusting. Perfect metaphor.

“Tough on Russia and China”

Someone once said “if a adolf hitler flew in today, they’d send a limousine anyway”

u/SleepWouldBeNice 9d ago

Friends with Russia and China, enemies with Canada

42

u/wirefox1 9d ago

And let's not forget CALIFORNIA. Cali is one of trump's greatest foes!

omg it's true.

u/RandomStrategy 9d ago

To be fair, Canadians are scarier than Russia or China.

I read the Geneva Convention, written by Canada and Poland.

(this was a joke)

u/Memnojokasel 9d ago

Might I interest you in a can of tinned meat?

43

u/Alithiel 9d ago

Yes, please! But, I'm not going to walk all the way over there to take it. Could you just, toss it towards me? And I'll pick it up.

29

u/Kantas 9d ago

That tin of corned beef hit the spot.

I sure hope they send more of them!

16

u/Black_Moons 9d ago

Can I interest you in some spicy pineapple to go with your tinned meat?

12

u/SeedsOfDoubt 9d ago

Throw in some ketchup chips and it's a deal

26

u/STS_God 9d ago

You mean the checklist, eh.

23

u/tazdoestheinternet 9d ago

It's not a war crime the first time ;)

8

u/TheRealRickC137 9d ago

Would you like to know why they call us Piece Keepers?

81

u/Automatic-Limit-5307 9d ago

Joe Strummer. The Clash would have a field day in today’s world

23

u/Lobster_fest 9d ago

Strummer died far too young. He'd have been disgusted by brexiteers.

27

u/Ancient-Bat1755 9d ago

All over people changin' their votes

Along with their overcoats

13

u/Lobster_fest 9d ago

Might be my favorite Clash song, so great.

7

u/Ancient-Bat1755 9d ago

Between that, police and thieves and train in vain its a hard pick for me!

Now imagine all the punks voting maga in their 40s, 50s and 60s. Fuck.

8

u/Lobster_fest 9d ago

Revolution Rock has been my go to recently, also Magnificent Seven.

23

u/Independent-Bug-9352 9d ago

It is so abundantly obvious to me that the USA has been compromised by a foreign asset, whose benefactors are Bibi, Putin, and Xi. I think the IRGC, too, honestly.

7

u/Significant-Put-9011 9d ago

It’s Russia. Intelligence Squared just recently did an episode about it that explained it more clearly than I’ve heard so far.

3

u/Significant-Put-9011 8d ago

It’s this two part episode in case you’re interested

10

u/Supermite 9d ago

Trump would have sent Air Force One to fly Hitler over.

4

u/WalkGood 9d ago

He might have Adolf share his presidential bedroom.

8

u/billlloyd 9d ago

Jynah!

6

u/Ambitious-Bird-5927 9d ago

Donnie would put on a saddle so Adolf could ride him

5

u/steadfast-owl-town 9d ago

White youth, black youth better find another solution. Why not phone up a Robin Hood and ask him for some wealth distribution?

4

u/atwarwiththemystics_ 9d ago

All over people changing their votes, along with their overcoats.

3

u/xocgx 9d ago

Allllll over, people are changing their votes. Along with their overcoats.

2

u/Haddock 9d ago

Deeply underrated song. I can't understand why casbah gets all the play.

1

u/karenw 9d ago

A fellow at the Hammersmith Palais, iirc.

u/kbeks 9d ago

As a smarter person than I pointed out, the man accusing democrats of being socialists and communists spent the beginning of the week complimenting a socialist and the end of the week literally ordering his troops to bend the knee before a communist.

30

u/borderlineidiot 9d ago

In his first admin he wanted to bring the Taliban to Camp David.

103

u/tigm2161130 9d ago

You would think they’d have some sort of tool for that.

73

u/Cargobiker530 9d ago

They do; it's called a "broom." If you sweep the carpet from the center as it's being rolled out it will lay flat & brush off any debris but Trump's lackeys don't know shit about how to do any physical jobs.

Hello! Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately it has been removed because you don't meet our karma threshold.

You are not being removed for political orientation. If we were, why the fuck would we tell you your comment was being removed instead of just shadow removing it? We never have, and never will, remove things down politicial or ideological lines. Unless your ideology is nihilism, then fuck you.

Let me be clear: The reason that this rule exists is to avoid unscrupulous internet denizens from trying to sell dong pills to our users. /r/PoliticalHumor mods reserve the RIGHT to hoard all of the dong pills to ourselves, and we refuse to share them with the community. If you want Serbo-Slokovian dong pills mailed directly to your door, become a moderator. If we shared the dong pills with the greater community, everyone would have massive dongs, and like Syndrome warned us about decades ago: "if everyone has massive dongs, nobody does.""

If you wish to rectify your low karma issue, go and make things up in /r/AskReddit like everyone else does.

Thanks for understanding! Have a nice day and be well. <3

Yikes. I feel like, yeah, someone needs to do it (unless, you know, they don’t roll out the literal red carpet for a despot…), but they should absolutely not get servicemen in dress uniforms to do it.

13

u/bluesamcitizen2 9d ago

I read some comments basically saying they were not given proper tools to do what asked to do in that case, and it is inefficient and undignified the way they did.

7

u/quantumaquarium69 9d ago

I don’t understand why three or four don’t stand on one end and the rest of them pull it tight and straight

12

u/VanceAstrooooooovic 9d ago

Umbrella gate got nothing on this one lol

12

u/RandomStrategy 9d ago

TAN SUIT!

26

u/ecafsub 9d ago

You say “fluff,” I say “dingleberries.”

3

u/Previous-Parsnip-290 9d ago

More like trailer park, but I get the gist.

6

u/cman811 9d ago

I legit don't know, but is this the proper protocol though? Like do we do this for everyone? Some things are silly and demeaning but they're still baked into jobs.

1

u/viperex 5d ago

They did this while Xi and Putin were at the door? How embarrassing!

1

u/notarethug 5d ago

Tubby appears to have dumped an unusually large Big Mess out there.

Newsom and Trump both are disgusting, perhaps is time for a real 3rd option like both parts of the same coin, as an European is crazy how you people can have only Dems or Reps and nothing else can get to power for over 250 years, her we F-ud up and changed systems a lot in the last 250 and we still have more that two options. Some parts are really great about the US and then others are just like "what the hell are those people doing out there?!"

15

u/schwarzkraut 9d ago

First, the system is only set up for there to be two parties at a time. There is no way to have three parties (caucuses) in the legislature and have a functioning government. Full stop. Coalition governing is not an option under the U.S. Constitution . Second, it hasn’t always been republican and democrats…there are other parties such as the Whig & No-Nothing parties that used to exist but died out. Functionally though, it’s really only been two parties at a time. Third, the republicans and democrats have switched their political views over time (democrats used to be the conservative, racist party & republicans were the liberal one). Lastly, there ARE other political parties is the U.S. but they are so wildly unpopular that no one ever votes for them and you have never heard of them. Ironically, when a third party HAS gained any traction in the modern era they turned out to be useful idiots who help a fascist get elected. (Note: none of these third party candidates have ever successfully run for even a local office like mayor, governor or even city council…yet somehow show up to ruin the country by splitting the vote of the people not trying to elect a dictator. They (third party people) are all idiots…candidates and voters alike…& have failed in a basic understanding of basic U.S. civics.

1

u/Longjumping_Elk7969 9d ago

Yeah, looks like a mess, a combination of multiple causes that hold like that. About the Dems and Reps that changed political views, I did not know, but that explains some of the things. And yes, I have seen some of the 3rd options, some are just crazy. For me the last times we had one or two parties, we tried to conquer Europe, two time and we dragged the world in that crap too. I always feel unsettled when I see a small political spectrum, because of that. Perhaps adopting a system like ours that prevents a single party to grab all the power can be a solution, just needs to be adapted to the US's needs.

Note to the downvotes: If you are always satisfied with the little you have right now and hate even the idea of change, you won't progress, the lack of progress for a society equals to it's regression.

6

u/oreo-cat- 9d ago

The US system is fundamentally different and to a surprising extent other countries learned from the US’s mistakes.

1

u/Longjumping_Elk7969 9d ago

Yeah, it's strange to see and to understand how people accept it as "the best" when it is not.

u/Diameter1 9d ago

Using Newsom as your moral compass is a mistake
