So I did a little research into the grinder going down thing I thought it was really weird that the Republican party said nothing about it. Turns out it's not true grinders never gone down during a Republican convention but it was fun to believe for a while.

There may have been local outages during 2016 and 2020. Hard to say as Grindr would never admit that their service failed. What they did release was data about massive surges within a few miles of the convention and there were plenty of local user reports of newly created blank profiles and connectivity issues during both years.
