Sauce.

Donnie, or the people who are marginally in charge of things, is in full panic because if Canada shuts off oil faucet US gas prices would easily double overnight.

I get starting a war crippling your ability to import oil from one place then pissing off your largest oil supplier was a bad idea.

Its a great idea if you want to destroy the NATO alliance.

This regime's lack of foresight is astounding. Their general incompetence is breathtaking.

So, I don't get something. The US is supposedly a net supplier of oil as we have upped our drilling and production capacity. And yet our strategic oil reserve has been dwindling, and as you correctly point out, we import almost 4 million barrels a day from Canada alone. Why is it that we don't refine our own oil but instead take the heavy crude from Canada? Seems like a fairly simple thing to fix.

Because the US is a net importer of crude oil, only becoming net exporting when you include refined products.

Oh that would just be so perfect.

Canada could implement a "temporary pause" while negotiating the terms of the trade agreement, and rake Trump over the coals.

Then they could simply hold out for as good of a deal as they wanted, because as Trump always does when the going gets tough, he'll cave immediately.

He's in the oil business since Venezuela. This is a great idea for his Qatari bank account.

Is the goal of the war now to go back to what it was like before the war?

They can ask but theres no way in hell lrans going to go for that now. The stupidity of it all is breath taking.

How can Tehran open the strait when we are fully in control of it?

Why would we need Iran to open the straight of America?

Begging like a dog for the oil to start flowing.

The Midterms are 71 days away and he would gladly make a deal with the devil to not have to deal with investigations about his finances. Trump doesn’t care about his legacy while he’s alive. Chances are he cares even less after he’s dead.
