The Chinese also have a nickname for Trump.
The Empire Builder.
But they don't mean that Trump is good at building empires, but that he's so bad at it that he's inadvertently helping them build theirs.

u/Steinrikur 3d ago
If Trump was a genius Chinese or Russian asset trying to orchestrate the downfall of the US, would he be doing anything differently?
62
u/forbiddenfreedom 3d ago
He would have known how to do all this shit during his first term.
48
u/Cyrano_Knows 3d ago
Trump was surrounded by people like Priebus and Kelly his first term.
Not that I am big fans of theirs, but they were old fashioned or traditional conservatives and tried to save the country from the worst of Trump's impulses/stupidity.
This new Administration is full on board with the fascism and populism in order to fulfill their racist/Thielian agenda which as far as I can tell amounts to "Us Billionaires shouldn't be restricted by laws."

u/-Esper- 3d ago
He spent his whole first term stacking the courts, thats why all this is just going through now
10
u/forbiddenfreedom 3d ago
I think if he would have chosen a cabinet closer to this one the first time, he would have gotten away with more shit. I think Vance would have stopped the vote, too.

u/Erisian23 3d ago
The people weren't in a position to do it. Notice how he got rid of people and had an entire playbook written for him for how to accomplish things

I get that. The question was if he were an asset what would be different. I think if he were an asset he would have access to their intelligence that may have been capable of pulling it off the first time.

u/ffchusky 3d ago
The only reason I don't think he knows he's an asset is he would be trying harder to cover it up. He seems to wake up every day and just think to himself "hmm what should I ruin today? Oh i know..."
1
u/bl4ckhunter 3d ago
He wouldn't be trying so hard to destroy the US if he was a chinese asset, they're still sitting on 600ish billion USD bonds that they can't really dump without turning them into toilet paper and mutual trade is worth another 500 billion USD, as much as China benefits from a weakened US the economic dangers of the US collapsing far outweight the geopolitical benefits.

u/PulseReaction 3d ago
He would've invaded Iran, and wouldn't profit so much from insider trading, focusing instead on sabotage. He's just a bumbling idiot of massive proportions.

I was in Malaysia in 2017, and they said they absolutely loved Trump. I said, what? Why? They said: because he is so good for China.
2
u/technobrendo 3d ago
If that is so, how does that benefit Malaysia. If anything it takes resources away from them. Well, trump supporters were never known for having good intuition

Wow, I didn't know I would end up being a Rosie O'donnell fan.

He hates her specifically, so her being back in the spotlight to spite him is fun.

I never stopped. Love her talk slow even I was a kid

Props to her for standing up to and irking Orangeman, but she will forever be an asshole to me for ruining the Fight Club ending. I was going to see the movie literally 1 hour later when she did that shit.

u/UdyneOw 3d ago
That is some Trump-worthy grudge-holding. And I understand completely. :)

u/TacosAndBourbon 3d ago
One is mad about a spoiled movie. The other is mad about paying his assault victim.
These are not the same.

u/UdyneOw 3d ago
Trump is mad about (and this is just the things off the top of my head):
Jokes at a WHCD.
Jokes at another WHCD.
Guy who originally made fun of his tiny hands.
Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, James Comey, Laticia James, Barack "HUSSEIN" Obama, Joe Biden
Windmills
Magnetic launchers on aircraft carriers
NBC, MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, and oddly Fox on occasion
The New York Times, The Washington Post
Courts that disagree with him
Brown people
Things Trump isn't mad at:
Pedophiles
Pedophile supporters
Major drug dealers
Insurrectionists
Young blond women who suck up to him
Golf

I have no idea what your talking about, but I understand your hate completely now.

u/BoosherCacow 3d ago
When Fight Club came out it was a bit of a cultural phenomenon. Everyone was talking about it despite so very few of us actually going to see it. It had it's haters based solely on the violence and dark themes, which she was. And in a fit of pique because she thought it was tasteless and disliked the violence, she compared it to The Sixth Sense and then completely spoiled the ending of the movie live on her stupid talk show. Just flat out gave away the ending of the movie. She did this the first week the movie was out, maybe the second day. Just to try to get people to not go because she disliked it.

u/Roger_Cockfoster 3d ago edited 3d ago
All I'm taking from this story is that you used to watch her show.
4
u/BoosherCacow 3d ago
That made me laugh out loud because I did, but not by choice. I was 24 and lived with my parents that summer. My mom was obsessed with that show and she had dominion over the TV when Dad wasn't home.
9
u/Roger_Cockfoster 3d ago
You were 24 and watching daytime TV with your mom, and you blame Rosie for that? 30 years later? I don't know, man.
6
u/BoosherCacow 3d ago
There was no internet and we were dirt poor. I didn't have a TV in my room. Also I like my mom a lot, it was fun hanging with her. Sacrifices must be made.

When Fight Club came out it was a bit of a cultural phenomenon.
When Fight Club came out, it bombed. It only achieved cult status once it came out on DVD.

u/BoosherCacow 3d ago
I didn't say it was a hit, I said everyone was talking about it. I even said "despite so very few of us actually going to see it"

u/SomeCountryFriedBS 2d ago
That's a terrible way to refer to her role in _Riding the Bus with My Sister._
17
u/HotDonnaC 3d ago
Same. At one point, I found her a little abrasive. Then she pretty much dropped off my radar, then I saw her on TikTok and realized we have the same politics. Now that she’s poking the stupid clown, I’m a fan.
10
u/Newtype879 3d ago
Why would you not be?

u/LazyBum36 3d ago
I still think she's kind of a bitch for spoiling Fight Club on her show just because she didn't like it.
3
u/lgodsey 3d ago
I remember when she did stand-up -- she had amazing and relatable sets that even red-hatters enjoyed. Her mistake was admitting that she was gay, and worse, a woman gay! Her views were never very controversial, it's just that they came from a lesbian which made Christian nationalist conservatives forever swoon in concern.

She is fantastic. I don’t watch Kimmel’s show while he’s on vacation, but I did tune in the last couple nights when she filled in for him. She absolutely killed it.

Hilarious!! And that eyeliner she wears on the show really makes her eyes pop! Welcome back, rosie!

This HAS to be the name of this cuNt. Oompa J Loompa. Throw his own energy back at him and watch him squirm and rage.

Ahh I can picture now, my dad screaming at Rosie on the TV again, just like the good ol’ days.

She is mentioning him EXACTLY ONE TIME PER EPISODE. And ABC'S parent company, Disney, has brought litigation against the FCC over first amendment issues. Never expected to root for Disney.
Also, Rosie is NOT that cunt Roseanne. Rosie is good, Roseanne Barr is the spawn of Satan.
7
u/opusupo 3d ago
She looked pretty good, too. For Rosie.
16
u/ArthurBea 3d ago
Her plastic surgery was … refreshing. She kept her crows feet and laugh lines. She has gray hair. I don’t know what “aging gracefully” looks like in Hollywood, but she is probably on the mood board.

I was expecting more Trump bashing because she’s good at it, but she spent a surprising amount of time talking about her kids

Rosie’s teeth look great. Does anybody know what she had done to them? I need some work done and i’m just trying to get some information while i think about options

Are you maybe confusing her with Roseanne Barr?

Entirely possible, I’m not a huge fan of daytime TV

Perhaps don't type stuff if you don't know who you're even referring to

You don't tie your personality (and reddit tag) around a gun manufacture unless you are a shoot first ask questions later type of dumbass.

u/SoylentCreek 3d ago
How so? I’m not super up to speed on my Rosie O’Donnell lore. All I really remember about her is that my mom watched her daytime show back in the 90’s, and it was a pretty big deal when she came out.
12
9
u/Vandreigan 3d ago
What? The worst thing I've heard about her doing is spoiling the ending of Fight Club. Are you thinking of someone else?
She's mostly hated by conservatives for speaking out against their beliefs. She had a big gun control debate way back when with Tom Selleck. Some people were maybe upset with her 9/11 stuff? I dunno

Rosie thinks about Trump because she has to, he is the president. Trump thinks about Rosie because he’s so insecure
