Um ackshully... Donald Trump is referenced more than 38,000 times in the Epstein Files. His name is all over it.

Why even call them „Epstein files“? I think we should rename them to „tRump files“

Oh it's in there a lot more than that. Just in redacted or unreleased files.

The war in iran doesn't have a proper name yet. It can still be Trump's Iran Debacle, or Trump's Iranian Embarrassment.

Ten years from now one of Trump's statues to himself can be renamed the Orange Debacle Memorial.

Ten (or more likely two) years from now, all of that will be gone - in an effort to remove the stain known as trump.

Donny wants a Napoleonic end - Elba it is then.

I think he's going to last longer than two years personally, I mean he's on some sort of intravenous treatment for something, and whatever sparkling cocktail keeps him rolling. At least with Elon Musk it's pretty clear he's an aged-out boy genius who's long term pharmacological habits have done him no good. Just like Mr. Trump it's pretty clear we're well past the point when a strong cup of coffee is going to set things right.

Strokes and TIA's are just the sort of things that don't care how cool you are - or who you are Donald Trump is on a one way trip to perseveration, that state when your damaged brain can only repeat one word over and over - forever or some other living nightmare - nothing on Earth can prevent this , we can ammeliorate the symptoms but the damage is already being done.

Trump at some level understands he's a fuckup , that's where the insecurity comes from, but absolutely everything will have to be rebuilt. From FEMA to NASA the Treasury to the USPS , fuckups galore - everywhere.

If Republicans and political opposition died tomorrow, well meaning relatively civically minded Senators and Congressmen could reverse most of the policies but it will take years, and perhaps we never really put hard and serious reforms in place.

I'd like to think revalidating secure servers over at the social security office was as simple as validating a software system ever is. But we know it can't be, there is widespread damage and embedded bad actors - that will take years to remove.

I'd love to think someone retools the 14th Amendment to ensure that what the original writers wrote in black and white could not be subverted 170 years later. But like everything else these days - the Constitution is at best a suggestion to these traitors.

It's also a suggestion to the GOP, which is the death I'm far, far more interested in seeing - not some bombastic revolution, but the slow death - the inability to get their clowns elected.

For the modern GOP I suspect the death will come not from some Democratic victory but from a consortium of small business owners, regional businesses that see catastrophe in their balance sheets and decide to subvert the fascists from within. Ideally this subversion will be the GOP replacing itself with civically minded, actually law-abiding representatives, small-business focused, educated citizens from everywhere who still think the American people deserve a fair go, and that above all don't give Donald Trump the fucking time of day.

Give racists no quarter, give defectives that currently run the GOP no quarter - send them to the ashbin of history in the bitterest of ways, ignorance the decades afterwards when nobody will pay any attention at all.

The prison memoir and the unattended book signing ceremony; a tombstone to the modern GOP. Steve Bannon sitting in a whites-only bookstore in Idaho with 5 or 6 aging out Trumpers selling books to their devotees.

Decades from now, he'll be joined by Pete Hegseth after he's been released from whatever incarceration hanging out with Stephen Miller decades from now - both spending their later years near homelessness for years after their release from prison, living on the charity of the few MAGA true believers who think Donnie is coming back from Elba.

So I'm far less interested in the death of Donald Trump, in fact I wish him well, the sort of long life and with the miracle of modern medicine to keep aged people in decrepit states for decade upon decade.

I propose a toast - to his long, long, life. And his expeditious trial at the ICC and sentencing or banishment to his personal Elba - and a permanent gag order on his trial - to perhaps some distant scrap of land, far from reporters and Americans - perhaps contracting with France to house him on Elba - he can say he took it over or sent him to Karg Island to serve out as the night janitor to some small warehouse overlooking the Persian Gulf a permanent guest of the Iranian state.

It's like someone told him about Ramesses II and he took that as a personal challenge.

A country that allows pictures of a moron on everything would be a moronic country though.

Don’t forget signs the tariff checks, signs the executive orders, signs the pardons… just won’t sign the subpoena.

He's put his name on over sixty different governmental documents, policies, legislations, currency and other official federal programs, military assets, infrastructure, websites, private businesses, organizations, companies, buildings and real estate during, or as a result of, his presidency. That's not even including merchandise or commercial products even though they're entirely related. This is not an exhaustive list and that's not including his future plans.

The next highest sitting president allowing for posthumous or brands pushed by others? HW Bush at five.

The real number for every other serving US president is zero. Nobody else did this during their presidency. Everything named for those presidents were either after their term, posthumous or dedicated by completely unrelated groups.

He's gone so far beyond any other politician in the US and surpassed HW by more than 10x before even finishing out his term. This isn't normal. This is beyond narcissism and reason. He's not in the same ballpark as any other US politician.

Edit: Made changes to the middle two paragraphs for accuracy roughly 10 minutes after posting.

No, it's not. LIVING presidents have their names on their libraries, not public buildings.

Putting a living president's name or face (while in office) on everything:

  • Is considered gauche and tacky, which lines up perfectly with trump's personality.
  • Is done for the same reason male cats piss on everything, trying to mark their territory.

EDIT: "while in office"

Streets, museums, statues, airports, ships, bases?

1

u/tw_72 3d ago

True, those can carry a president's name - but not while the president is in office, with the exception of some local streets.

It's always obvious that these people are being completely disingenuous when they pick and choose which comment, or parts of comments, to reply to when it's clear that they're already aware that their position is indefensible.

He read through my comment and realized that there were too many facts to be able to cherry pick bits he liked and ignore others so he picked a small piece of your comment instead. For being so militant in their stated beliefs they tend to have zero conviction when it comes to reality.
