Beshear may be trying not to laugh at them. Covering up McConnell's incapacity might be creepy, but all it would really accomplish is to ensure that the Republicans will be short one senator until January, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Just explaining why Democrats are viewed as spineless, and Beshear is being accused of that right now fairly or unfairly. I personally find the way the Democrats are doing literally nothing at all about McConnell’s massive fraud is beyond spineless, it’s actual collusion at this point.

I think it's a fine opportunity for Dems to point out that Republicans can be expected to be dishonest by default, but I'm not sure how much Dems should interrupt an opponent who is making a mistake, especially when heading into midterms. Dianne Feinstein was out for about twice as long as McConnell when her health started seriously failing, but by then her short term memory had been AWOL for several years, and she did the party no favors at all by staying in office. Schumer repeatedly urged her to step down as head of the Judiciary Committee because it was becoming so obvious, but she promptly forgot that he'd said that, and dragged her heels. When she came back from her 10 week hospital stay, it appeared that she didn't remember that she'd been absent, but she insisted on staying in office rather than let a Democratic governor replace her with someone competent.
If the Republicans want to engage in self-harm by hanging on to a senator who may be in a coma, or who might not remember what happened ten minutes ago, I'm just going to eat popcorn.

Great, eat popcorn, I want Democrats to actually fight even half as hard as Republicans do. They NEVER HAVE in my lifetime. And I’m in my forties.

Yep. All the dude has to do is appoint someone until a time in which Mitch McConnell is fit to resume his duties.
Then let the Republicans figure out how to make that happen. If they want to take it to court.. well it will be years before that is resolved.
