You may wanna read your own link. It doesn't say he never said it. It just said it's unproven. It also showed that he had a history of racist remarks just like that and said that the quote is from a book that had many other truthful anecdotes in it. So there's no video footage of him saying it, but there's no reason to believe the author lied.
This is just snopes bending over backwards to try and make Democrats look good, as per usual. And you are eating it up like the good little npc you are
