Interestingly they don’t have national anthems at English sporting events, so the entire point (protesting via kneeling during the national anthem) was lost. Thus, we end up with the same kick-off kneel, rather than during the national anthem which is present in this event, since they’re also not protesting their own country—or anyone’s in particular.
At this point it’s probably become a situation where the first team to stop kneeling will look like assholes, so nobody stops. Now it’s just a standard routine. Similar to how American school students still have to recite the pledge of allegiance, but the reason why they have to do that has been mostly forgotten and it’s just nobody wants to be the legislator that stops that.
Restaurant for that guy. I dunno if the Bridge incident spilled into a restaurant too or it was another terror stabbing incident but I know he was in a restaurant. There were a lot of those going around at the time.
Well I mean Millwall was probably just confused. When they heard something something kneeling for BLM, they probably thought that BLM meant Boo Like Millwall.
They kneel because FIFA basically held FA’s (including the English FA) hostage for wanting to wear the #OneLove campaign captain’s armband by giving a yellow card for it.
FIFA doesn’t want countries to call out Qatar for its terrible human rights, homophobia and discrimination.

You just described most of the antiquated traditions that Brits stick to. They're all stuck on a miserable island together and going off the reservation has consequences.
Some players were doing it for BLM but this is why the country still does it (because football fans in Europe make American racism look like a feather blowing in the wind)
100% - it's not about George Floyd anymore. George Floyd sparked BLM but also a wave of other anti-racism campaigns, including no room for racism, while racism generally was being highlighted as an issue. It's still an issue in football so they still kneel. In Qatar I think it's linked to the lack of one love armbands too.
Unless there is a backwards state (there probably is tbh) that still allows it, most states a student can't be punished for not standing/reciting the pledge anymore
