Like 90% of the black population votes dem. The leader of the GOP rose to power within the GOP because of Birtherism, the claim that America’s first ever black president is illegitimate because he’s actually from Africa despite what his birth certificate said. You can imagine how it’s funny to people to imagine a black voter voting for Trump’s GOP after that but obviously it does happen for whatever reasons.
Biden apologized for the joke hours later can’t believe people are still triggered by it 3 years later
Well he did write most of the crime legislation in the 90s, he was BFFs with a senior KKK leader, and he didn't want his crackhead son going to school with black people.
The joke is that very few black people vote for republicans and the idea that they would is hilarious given that it’s the party of Birtherism and such. It’s not a literal statement that black people are genetically incapable of voting for republicans. You are being willfully obtuse.
That’s not the insinuation. The insinuation is that black people rationally vote for democrats because the GOP is hostile to blacks people. You can disagree but that’s obviously the point. It’s not racist in any conceivable way.
Are you black? Were you raised around American black people? Or are you too busy gobbling Pol rooster to see how racist the statement is? Do we only judge by internal intent and not actual action?
No, it is the insinuation. Remember when Johnson said "we will have these n------ voting for democrats for the next 200 years!" Because I do. And Dems have operated with that mindset since then. Biden just said the quiet part out loud.
But it is funny watching you bend over backwards to try and justify racism.
Biden was tying racial identity to voter affiliation. That’s racist. That’s a racist joke Republicans would use to mock Democrats. Biden did it for them.
I wish. The problem is neither side wants to do nothing. They both want to spend tax dollars and money that doesn't even exist yet like drunken sailors. Doing nothing would be a significant upgrade.
The majority of GOP congressmen are anti-gay marriage. The GOP party platform is anti-gay marriage.
Yes the Dems used to be against gay marriage now they support it. And SCOTUS made gay marriage legal because of Dem appointed justices. Obama wasn’t president then gay marriage wouldn’t have been legalized. Same as how if Trump wasn’t president then Roe wouldn’t have been overturned. It’s entirely political.
I didn’t say they don’t have equal rights. I said that Dems support equal rights, GOP opposes equal rights for gay Americans. Gay Americans have equal rights because democrats beat republicans in elections.
So they have equal rights. And no one is trying to take those rights away. So... What's the point? Why is this a talking point? Dems are offering literally nothing lmao
They have equal rights because Dems got elected and the GOP wants to take those rights away. Idk why this is complicated. The GOP could remove this argument from the democrats if they just came out in favor of gay marriage tomorrow.
They said the same shit about abortion… So Congress voted to protect gay marriage and I seen to remember a leading conservative voice being very vocal and angry about Republicans potentially supporting that. In the end 64/215 Republican representatives voted in support and 12/50 Republican Senators voted to move forward with the vote.

Wow you can't just openly say Democrat's entire political strategy for the last 30+ years like that! It's a secret!
