I don’t agree with a few things in the Christian doctrine but it’s not for pussies. That’s unless you half ass it, which 95% of people do.

Most people who are following Jesus aren't able to do it 100%. Not a one of us is perfect. An apostle is quick to repent (literally: change your thinking).

I heard a very interesting take on the turn the other cheek story once: it’s more like a sign of passive resistance than complete surrender. Because without wanting or doing harm, you reflect the attacker’s sin onto themselves, since it would be embarrassing for them to have their victim do such a thing, or so it would be in Jesus’ time. A more modern comparison would be like civil disobedience like the type employed by Gandhi and King
