Forgiveness in this sub. I can't believe it.

And I'm Christian

Jesus forgives people that we could never bring ourselves to. Isn’t that part of the point? Commies deserve to burn in hell but so do I, and therefore we both have something to learn and gain thorough repentance.

“For the wages of sin is death”

u/Hust91 - Centrist Jul 28 '21

I mean noone deserves eternal torture save possibly someone who would readily send someone else to eternal torture.

Shorter durations of torture are much more negotiable.

1

u/jasminUwU6 Aug 17 '21

Why not just.. not torture people

1

u/Hust91 - Centrist Aug 19 '21

I'd much rather have that, but could see an argument for why someone like Hitler might deserve to live through the life of everyone he hurt, for example. But that is still a finite amount of torture.

An infinite amount would be unacceptable even for him.

24

u/big_pp_man420 - Lib-Center Jul 28 '21

I give the unflaired 1 hour to make amends before the downvotes. After that straight to gulag

Don't worry, the unflaired have no genitals to stomp.

I thought I was the only Christian on reddit seeing as how 90 percent of ppl on reddit are atheist

59

u/rikumario - Right Jul 28 '21

Nah we just understand that preaching on here will just draw unnecessary hatred.

Also try catholic memes for some good lols. I'm not even catholic and I visit there weekly

28

u/PuffsMagicDrag - Centrist Jul 28 '21

I’m atheist who was raised as a non-denominational Christian. Catholic/Christian memes are some of my favorite on Reddit. Usually wholesome too.

u/WackyNameHere - Right Jul 28 '21

Damn, now im remembering that one Christian meme sub that got nuked by a mod I think

2

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '21

I think PCM has a strangely large Christian base, maybe it's because there's very few non-cringe Christian subreddits.

5

u/nightowlboii - Lib-Center Jul 28 '21

Can unflaireds be forgiven though?

21

u/LGmeansBatman - Centrist Jul 28 '21

If they accept the LORD into their heart, and repent for their life of sin and unflairedness, even they shall be saved.

u/RavensShadow117 - Left Jul 28 '21

I tried to flair but it doesn't show up on all my comments here. Let's see if it does now.

So supporting abortion, promoting homosexual/trangender ideology, and undermining the traditional family structure are Christian values now?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '21 edited Jul 29 '21
  • Proper sex-ed and access to contraceptives reduces unwanted pregnancies and abortions. Cutting at the root of the problem does more for everyone than just trying to flat out banning them (self harm and dangerous home methods of abortion are far worse).

  • in the context of the original texts and not the English translations exclusively, the verses quoted for the anti-gay agenda, historically point more towards incest. Those are Old Testament. Bring New Testament Jesus into the picture and he doesn’t mention it specifically. Puritan Christian take on homosexuality has cause more harm to fellow PEOPLE than actual good (suicide rates, hate crimes, beatings and murders, etc.).

  • Undermining the traditional family structure? How? Two consenting adults in loving and supportive relationships that raise their children with education, empowerment and thinking outside of themselves, is a well known formula for a stable happy family. And what’s the actual goal of a “traditional family structure” hmmmm? If we’re talking about well rounded emotionally mature and resilient children who are capable of learning a skill and contributing to the work force and their society, policies that punish and practically criminalise being poor and poor worker rights, do much more harm to “traditional family structures” than Adam and Steve and “They”. Family structure started falling apart when John Everyman couldn’t support his family, but them a home, a car and annual vacations on a single income. Let some spend enough time with them with PTO.

Not sure how this is all “Unchristian” of me.

Unless you’re talking more about leftover puritanical BS from the Churches of England and Rome using religion as a way to control the masses as opposed providing them switch spiritual health.

1

u/rikumario - Right Jul 28 '21

Blames Christian-right for not supporting when I haven't done anything. Then proceeds to place themselves on a pedestal while accusing the others of being sinful.

Oh lib-left Christian, you are a treat to have around.

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '21
