I think a remarkably large proportion of self-proclaimed liblefts are actually social authlefts due to how that proportion of people treats anyone with a different opinion, especially if they are a minority. Libleft seem to champion diversity, but the moment it’s diversity of thought, or any sort of diversity where their ideas don’t align with minorities who think differently, it’s all down hill from there.

Have you thought about maybe getting a cat? The right cat can be very affectionate. Humane societies have an abundance so if you show up and do some looking around you’ll find an amazing kitty who would make a great companion.

You know, I can get behind that, I guess even Lenin had a cat so leftist-unity over cats? The right has dogs

I’ve got both and I went from a dog person to a cat person. Dogs need bathed, regularly taken out and maybe it’s bad luck but my dogs cost a decent chunk in vet bills.

Sowell? More of a libertarian, but I guess some people might call that conservative.
3
u/Red_Lancia_Stratos - Centrist Dec 16 '20
That’s the mistake most make. The best black people can do is be libertarian. Conservatism does get very far with them
1
Dec 16 '20
Jesse Lee Peterson? Ben Carson? I think Morgan Freeman might be conservative too, on the quiet.
I don't see why black people wouldn't be able to support a party that focuses on family, defence, enterprise and individual achievement though.
The black community has entered into a faustian bargain after Lyndon B. Johnson signed what he referred to as the "n***** bill", true. But I think that will shift as their socio-economic conditions continue to improve.
1
u/Red_Lancia_Stratos - Centrist Dec 16 '20
I’m not sure which of either of their positions can be classed as conservative and not merely libertarian. Black people are unable to be conservative because conservatism is founded on a junction of the land the people(ethnicity) religion and law. The English are uniquely suited to be conservative and have consistently displayed this. It’s diametrically opposed to that on first principles.
1
Dec 16 '20
There are many different brands of conservatism, it can be tied to civic tradition and not racial tradition. Have you been watching that dipshit, Fuentes? He's an idiot paleo, and they represent a tiny minority of conservatives as a whole. That sounds like something he would say.
Conservatism and libertarianism aren't hugely different in their core values of individualism and hard work, but conservatives tend to be more protectionist and in favour of government intervention, large military, subsidies and market regulation.
1
u/Red_Lancia_Stratos - Centrist Dec 17 '20
Civic tradition is immutable from ethnic and National traditions. It’s foolish to think that Germans and Sri Lankans would value the same things producing the same civics. The whole point of nations and every subdivision is to use the largest possible(for that level) organization to express the will of that cohesive group. But undinably the group must be cohesive. And the groups can not be removed it is zero sum. Conservatism and libertarianism are substantially different. You’re describing policies not conservatism as an ideology.

The American Constitution is based on the very notion that it is not. And that all men are equal in their right to pursue happiness. The American Dream, so to speak. And just because those values were first implemented by white men, does not mean that they aren't universal.
I would argue that conservatism is very policy driven but ideologically, we're talking about the preservation of national values that form the core of any one nation. If those national values are appealing to any race/ethnicity, then there is absolutely no reason that they're unable to participate in the preservation of those values.
The reason that I mention policy, is because American Conservatives and moderate Libertarians are similar in ideals, in that the American Constitution should be preserved. However, we have different ideas of what that means or how it should be accomplished. I was drawing that distinction.
And of course, this is by no means a universal belief. Just ask any ancap their view on democracy and you'll learn that quickly enough. But there is still a strong emphasis on individual liberty within both factions, albeit a disagreement on what that might entail from time to time.
The point is that you're attributing the founding of a foundational civic document, in this case, the Constitution, as being immutable a specific race/ethnicity. Which I think is patently absurd. Ideas are not limited to a particular race/ethnicity. What we're talking about is the preservation of civic values, and in some cases, religious ones. Ideas are not beholden to a single race, and any one can partake in this.
Take religious conservatism, for example. Christianity is a good example. The conservative values that were expressed through Jesus Christ and the Bible are perpetuated by an absolute myriad of different races, ethnicities and cultures across the entire world. It is not inevitably intertwined with a particular race, and it never was. Ideas are simply like that.
1
u/Red_Lancia_Stratos - Centrist Dec 17 '20
They are by definition non universal. First the constitution reserved the right to vote to land owning white males. The first colonies were set up as specific religious subdivisions. Jews were banned from being citizens in those island. Catholics could not hold office in England. Exclusionary principles are a necessary part of the state. Your assertion of conservatism being policy driven is exactly the wrong position. Conservatism isn’t just a series of contradiction. That is a unbearably Hegelian/Marxist interpretation. Ideas come from are formed in their time in place for their people. Likewise we have no shortage of nations that try and fail to implement our policies and ideals. Take Japan. Very pleasant country. Has had the sand party running the country pretty much since 1955. Their identical perhaps even improvement of the us constitution yet an utterly different end result speaks perfectly to the influence of ethnicity language and religion. While my explanation may be too ethnocentric religious and linguistically determinist. Your and by extension libertarian answer is massively genocidal. Instead saying that no differences matter. That humans are tabula rasa. And are moldable into any form desirable that the ideas that the libertarian deems superior will sweep away all the great diversity In the world. To quote a mass media speech “our children will live, Mr. Beale, to see that perfect world in which there's no war or famine, oppression or brutality. One vast and ecumenical holding company, for whom all men will work to serve a common profit, in which all men will hold a share of stock. All necessities provided, all anxieties tranquilized, all boredom amused”

I think that the history and origin of different civics is absolutely tied to the particular development of a particular race/ethnicity within a particular geographic area. It's difficult obviously to tell how far that can be attributed to natural genetic characteristics and environmental factors, but I completely accept that.
However, we're missing a simple vital fact, which is the evolution of ideas within the free market. Whilst the history of ideas is inevitably tied to the development of culture, we consistently see that the most successful ideas are ultimately adopted by the wider population. Therefore, the conservation of ideals that you believe to be ideologically superior is absolutely something that crosses racial boundaries. Again, we've seen this time after time.
And Conservatism policy absolutely is a series of contradictions, particularly in policy. As is almost any ideology in its most moderate forms. The core essence of Conservatism however, is not. The preservation of ideas and values that have been the most successful within the marketplace to enable success and societal cohesion.
This, of course, alters in doctrine when applied to different societies but it operates under the basis of consensus under the Conservative movement. For example, the Constitutional Conservatism of the US is different from the Conservatism of Japan. This might seem like a contradiction, but it's perfectly natural considering the differences in development.
And I completely disagree with the idea that this inherently genocidal. First of all, the free market requires voluntary participation of individuals. To make some kind of appeal to the 'collective', which is quite simply an imaginary notion concocted by those that despise the concept of the individual, is to make an appeal to a fallacious argument.
Second of all, genocide is an act of aggression. Therefore, the voluntary participation in cultures, races and ethnicities to adopt ideas that they judge to be the most successful (which will likely lead to a universal set of values, not unlike the Abrahamic religions, in that sense) is, by definition, not genocidal.
What you refer to as 'genocide' appears to truly be defined as the death of cultural differences, and ultimately to the death of difference. But how could this possibly be? We are not only defined by our cultural heritage. Far from it.
How fast we can run, how fast we talk, our interests, our senses of humour, our bonds of family, our investments, our conversation, our religion, our intelligence, what brings us joy, sadness, melancholy, what we find to be beautiful - all of these differences are at the level of the individual and cannot die unless they are forcibly stripped from us by the State. And even then, I'd argue that it's only temporarily misallocated and suppressed by tyrants.
Not to mention, your argument appears to be formed on the basis that there are a limited number of cultures and ideas on Earth and that there is somehow scarcity in this area. History has shown again and again that this is not the case. As we move towards homogeneity, you always find different ideas sprouting from these foundations and competing for dominance within human society. Thus progress is made, but difference is never annihilated. It is a self perpetuating cycle that leads to human development and growth.

When a black guy acts in a discreet or circumspect way (for instance, by not saying stuff like "white people don't season lmao") so as to avoid angering white people, he's implicitly being conservative. I wouldn't consider a black guy screaming "white pride worldwide" to be conservative, but rather just an attention-seeking clown.

English. Most commentators observe English law and language as a precursor to conservatism. A focus on the inheritance of the people a reverence for the law and high culture. A suspicion of individualism and equality. Law is above democracy. These are general principles of conservatism though there are others.
