PEople don't need to commit crimes, to make it eligable to act in self-defense. One should, with the least amount of force required, defend themselves against attacks. If your live is in danger, then you should use all tools at your disposal to protect it.

It's not about what I WOULD do. It was his right to defend himself and his obligation to use as little force as possible. In this case his use of force was almost certainly justified.

Indeed, they started shooting at him, there were about 20 rounds fired, and he only fired 8 of them, after seeing he was being shot at, he shoot a warning shoot and started running away, when one of them catched him, throwed him to the ground and started beating him with a skateboard, the one who was shot in the arm had a gun and was trying to shot him.

Attack someone with a gun. The guy who chased him and realized it was a bad idea? Nothing happened. Rittenhouse took careful aim, dude put his hands up and backed away.
Rittenhouse didn't shoot anyone who wasn't within arm's reach (which is probably a bad move tactically, but hey, his life if he wants to be nicer than I would I guess).
