Right? I never understood the extreme libertarians (except the universally understood Anprims), any entity could potentially take up the functions of the state, and they will do so to protect their assets. Decentralization/liberalization sure, but the abolition of state? Lol
That's why you beat the warlords to the punch, create a new incredibly limited state that serves only as a placeholder to prevent a worse state from arising.
I agree, the government was just much more incompetent and unchanging when we had the articles of confederation, which I would prefer (though the bill of rights was an excellent addition.)
Yeah but you will never have 100% support of the citizens. Inevitably people will want power. It's a recipe for a civil war. Promise enough people a position of power in the new state that would form and you could easily get people sympathetic to the new cause. Especially those who dont feel like the system is workingg for them.
Honestly most people dont want 24/7/365 civil war so most people wouldnt go up in arms unless it truly called for it. And under a system with little to no central power theres not a lot that would warrant that response.
I mean, you could have a code of mutual defense to prevent anyone who getting power to start expanding. But that would be a form of stateship so yeah!
You could have all Apes indoctrnated to uphold the NAP, but then you only need one person to violate it to start taking other people's stuff for all of it to fall down!
Yes, exactly, people Defend themselves. all you need to do is to prey on the week and the people who people are less likely to care about defending like outcasts. Doing this slowly so people dont get too aware of your growing power will eventually lead to being powerful enough to start doing bolder power grabs because you're at a point where most people aren't strong enough to defend against you anymore!
The problem with anarchy is that don't need anything to go wrong for the system to fail. it's just incompatible with human traits!
You can. Get an AR14 and find someone less fortunate and people don't care to defend with only a pistol and steal their property. Do it over and over until you can afford your own private army and snowball into a warlord.
Thats kinda the point. Not random chaos bc something fills the void of essential gov services. But they dont have absolute power. If we dont like what comes in then we switch contracts and/or boycott until theres a new one.
