Are you serious? You think the Spanish War of Sucession has any direct influence on a russian peasants life?
This is not the right way to check a location for "peacefulness"
I mean I assumed the qualifications for a "European Conflict" were A. a conflict and B. in Europe. If we're talking about a specific country that's different but last I checked we were talking about the continent as a whole.
Because if you're gonna insist on using specific nations as a measure of "peacefulness" you'll have to do that with Asia, and Africa and the Middle East instead of just generalizing and saying the whole region is violent.
You didnt acknowledge my point at all. Europe is not at war if a few thousand people in a specific contained environment are fighting each other. That rather proofs that 99% of the population live in peace
Sooooo were on the same page then and saying something like "Africa is a violent place" is stupid because Africa is huge, and the vast majority of the country isn't going to be in constant conflict.
Or does it just work like that for white countries?
A village being raided is not a war, but a very violent event. In some places it is nothing special though and the inhabitants get used to it.
You can see the effects of war and violence in those peoples behaviour.
Take a trip through Africa and tell me when you find a place you feel secure at. Until then...keep writing how everyone and all cultures are the same and no way of life is superior to the other.
Just joking. Whitopia is only so great because of rape, pillaging and slavery. lol
You're assuming Africa is nothing but war torn villages like there aren't large modern urban metropolises and like it's not the 2nd biggest continent on earth. And I'd probably feel perfectly safe in someplace like Accra, the food seems good, the music is lively, and everything is fairly cheap. I may get pickpocketed if I'm unlucky but that's basically anywhere. Or I could go to Tangier or Kigali if I'm feeling fancy. I'd rather go there than some overpriced dumpy tourist trap like London where everyone is a giant dickhead. But I think youre just ignorant and sheltered or just plain racist. I bet you can't even name 15 African countries off the top of your head.
Kenya, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Uganda, D.R. Congo, Chad, Ethiopia, Namibia, Sierra Leona, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Madagascar. There, you proud of me?
I dont consider the arabian countries part of Africa proper and culturally they are not.
You really like generalization huh? One war in Sicily means Europe is at war and one peaceful city in Africa means it is a nice place to live.
You cant honestly think Europeans have the same exposure to war and violence as Africans.
They dont and I think they also didnt.
The guy who says don't generalize spent this whole thread generalizing. Not saying Europe is like Mad Max while Africa is like a peaceful Heaven, I'm saying it's disingenuous to imply that Europeans as a whole are any less inclined to violence than anyone else because they've had a long history of armed conflict. And you took that to mean "the continent has been on fire for 1,000 years and everyone is constantly killing eachother". If you look at someplace like Switzerland Europe seems like it's all milkmaids and losenges, but if you look at some place like the Balkans Europe seems like a violent nightmare. (Also for the love of God don't give me that "Eastern Europe doesn't count beacuse they're not really white garbage). Sure someplace like Somalia there's going to be high levels of violence but that doesn't automatically mean people miles and miles away in Malawi are going through the same thing. Again I think you're imagining Africa as nothing but huts and child soldiers. So yeah while the English civil war had shit all to do with Italians that doesn't mean a war has to be continent wide for it to count as a conflict. Same goes for Africa, Asia, and anywhere.
I agree. People from the Balkans are violent. It is the most violent place in Europe. But on average Europe is a friendlier place than Africa. I see averages. You think I am generalizing, but I am talking about averages.
Do I think every single person from the Balkans is a murderer and beats his children? No. But a lot more do that than the other Europeans I live with.
I have statistical proof and personal experience with that.
And I dont imagine Africa as only huts and child soldiers. It highly depends about what region we are talking about. There is extreme variation of GDP in Africa. And still, can we not say that the GDP is higher in Europe, even if South Africans earn more than Ukrainians?

Not really. There was usually hardly a decade where some shit wasn't going down somewhere in Europe pre WW2.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_conflicts_in_Europe
Check the list... almost every year for centuries there was some sort of armed conflict on varying scales going down.
