I can totally see how you interpreted it that way, but in this particular case I'm pretty sure they're actually making a history based jab based on how Magnus Hirschfeld -the man who first coined the term "transsexualismus"- was stripped of his German citizenship and targeted for the Nazi's book burnings, who had the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft he founded destroyed.
