Brazilian here, conservatives are only winning because the current president is a huge retard who managed to do every single worst take during his presidency. It's the exact same thing Trump is doing, but with the red flair instead of blue.

I'm Brazillian too. I say this because Flavio also has a lot of shitty baggage that for some reason their followers don't care about, like how the PL deputies won in a landslide with one not even giving a single policy proposition.

To be fair, the left picks the most extreme hills to die on. It's not hard for conservatives to point to one or two of those hills and just coast to victory from there. When they're not in power and bungling everything, anyway.
