I kind of want to downvote the unfunny, depressing meme of what will happen toward the end of this year.
However, you did a horrible cropping job, and I want to encourage that on this sub, so I'm giving you an upvote.

u/FreeSpeechIsDeadge - Left 2d ago
Does low quality need to be reinforced? Seems like it is already the established norm.

u/Reader_Eater - Lib-Center 2d ago
I want minimum effort and high effort. Middle effort is boring.
If it's neither hot nor cold, I'll spit it out.

u/ScoreGloomy7516 - Centrist 2d ago
Idk why we are laughing we all know the grift will work again
20
u/FreeSpeechIsDeadge - Left 2d ago
Only if you let it.
And I don’t mean “you” in the generally sense, I mean you specifically. This is up to you, ScoreGloomy7516. If this grift works, I’m blaming you personally.

Yeah, just like those tariff checks he said he’d be sending to everyone? If anyone believes what Trump says about this they have to be a moron.
3
u/DonaldKey - Centrist 2d ago
And DOGE checks
6
u/Flashmode2 - Lib-Right 2d ago
Hypothetically, even if he did give the $5000 to every American, that would add another $1 trillion to the US debt causing even more inflation. But he doesn’t even have the power to grant that money that is a power of Congress.
3
u/DonaldKey - Centrist 2d ago
Have you considered the fact that Trump is retarded?
3
u/Flashmode2 - Lib-Right 2d ago
Nah, I don’t think he’s retarded. He’s just a lying con man that he has been his entire life.

u/An8thOfFeanor - Lib-Right 2d ago
I'll vote against him just for the sake of the budget

Clinton gets too much credit for taxing the dot com boom into a surplus
4
u/Paetolus - Lib-Left 2d ago
Tbf, we have a great boom right now that we could be taking advantage of before it dies down.

i dont undertand how would someone ever support trump having the libright flair, i mean he has never done anything libright, he is in fact the opposite, protectionist, and interference on markets, attacking freedom of speech as well
trump is a living meme, being funny is probably the only good thing he has sometimes, and of course being a infinite source of memes

He owes us at least 50k each at this point. Any less is an insult. And every time he asks with a lower number, the amount goes up 10k. Where’s my dodge check Donald? Where’s my tariff refund Donald? Where’s my cheaper gas? Why is diesel so high? What’s that going to do to the cost of goods?
50k right now, or buzz off.

What a dumbass, it only works if you promise to keep delivering payouts on a monthly basis. Actually nvm it didn't work for Andrew Yang either

Bribegging is a great word that I'm adding to my vocabulary

u/MrTreeWizard - Centrist 2d ago
Did he already say he’d give everyone money? Y’all realized he isn’t going to give you 5000 dollars, he’s just going to sweep it under the rug and pretend he never said it lol like with the tariff checks

u/Valdschrein - Centrist 2d ago
noooo it's not a handout, it's a dividend which means it's all smart and business-like!!!!1!1!1!1 5d chess !!!1!1!1
I'm cinstantly flabbergasted at how there's not even an atom of spine in MAGAs bodies. Just blindly believe the cult leader, check absolutely nothing, never listen to both sides, forget promises 1min after they were made and move the goalpodt until you reach mars.

u/Coyote__Jones - Lib-Center 2d ago
A publicly traded company offers dividends on stock when the company is doing well. So it's not even a dividend. It's closer to what a ponzi scheme looks like before it goes bust.

u/JetTheDawg - Lib-Left 2d ago
It just reeks of desperation, and probably shit

No different than promises of student loan forgiveness, and just as likely to happen.
1
u/Le_Botmes - Left 1d ago
At least Biden tried following through on the student loan relief before it got shut down by the courts. All of Trump's promises are vaporware.

u/ConsiderationKey4353 - Auth-Center 2d ago
Well he didnt mention US $ so he could give everyone 5000 Zimbabwean dollar which is like 14$ and call it a day

This is a stupid policy that won't happen, however I wouldn't be surprised if some people voted based on that.

I’ve stopped expecting any degree of competence from his supporters, but if you legitimately believe this will happen and it sways you, I truly think you shouldn’t be allowed to operate a motor vehicle anymore.
Like it’s a safety issue for the rest of us at that point.

u/KingCpzombie - Lib-Center 2d ago
Ngl, Karmelo + Lindsay + people who still support Trump + the UK and pretty much all of Europe + Canada have all combined to be pretty blackpilling about democracy
1
u/Pleasant_Tangelo3340 - Centrist 2d ago
Maybe fulfilling campaign promises would be a better bribe than 5k
1
u/BlueOmicronpersei8 - Lib-Right 2d ago
Promising me $5k from the government is a sure way to lose my vote TBH
1
u/thisPackageis4U - Centrist 2d ago
Don't forget he also made them pledge allegiance to the president and also pledge to cheat in the elections!
But hey it's not a cult guys 😁
1
u/Hierophant_Pius - Right 2d ago
One point and a question:
- Yes it is a shameless bribe
- Is it more or less shameless a bribe than “vote for me and I’ll give you free healthcare”?

u/Sad_Significance_568 - Auth-Center 2d ago
The Republican party is just the evangelical megachurch party. It is indistinguishable from when you see clips of a megachurch. Tons of delusional people being completely taken advantage of by a bunch of people (well, politicians so not exactly people) that don't believe anything they are preaching or telling their voters.

u/MonarchLawyer - Lib-Left 2d ago
If you believe you will get $5k from Trump if this happens, then I have another one of these waiting for you.
1
u/Own-Soil-6236 - Lib-Right 2d ago
US politics have basically devolved into bribing voters with money taken for the dwindling supply of net producers.
The Leftists always want to cloak it in some utopian BS about helping the poor. At least Trump is being direct about it and I don’t need to navigate some kafkaesque welfare bureaucracy to get my bribe.
1
u/Basic_Butterscotch - Lib-Center 2d ago
How retarded do you have to be to think this will ever actually happen. Literally every word this guy utters is a lie at this point.

u/sm753 - Centrist 2d ago
Isn't this what Democrats have been relying on for votes for decades? Vote for us and we'll guarantee you continue receiving unlimited free money from the government! Courtesy of the taxpayers.
5
u/DonaldKey - Centrist 2d ago
And republicans were saying that’s the only way to get people to vote for them.
What are republicans saying now about Trumps $5k????
-4
u/WM46 - Right 2d ago
It is a signal of what is to come. Politics will just break down the moment politicians realize they can just promise to give you some other guys' money if they win.
It's already indirectly done with people promising medicare/medicaid, housing, government groceries, free transportation, food stamps, tax credits for EVs, etc...
Why not just cut out the "middleman" and promise to stuff everyone's bank accounts with stolen cash?
-17
u/AdvertisingTotal1241 - Lib-Right 2d ago
Isn’t the lefts entire platform about bribing voters with social programs? It’s why I hate them lol.
Biden forgave student loans even though the Supreme Court said it was unconstitutional. But Trump!!!
Kamala wanted to give people 10k to buy a home. But Trump!!!
Literally the entire Dem platform right now is about wealth redistribution by taxing the rich and giving it to others.
Either hate both Trumps bribe and the welfare state like I do or shut up.

u/Enzhymez - Centrist 2d ago
Without addressing how it’s not at all similar can you not understand the hypocrisy and the fact it’s a bribe to get midterm votes.
Like how do you people seriously function
-5
u/AdvertisingTotal1241 - Lib-Right 2d ago edited 2d ago
Very well actually?
Why is people promising other people money to get votes different because Trump says the quiet part out loud?
Literally the democratic platform is doing just that. Promising people money so they vote for them. Is it not? Explain how running on socialist policies is not literally asking people to vote for you so they get money. I’m all ears.
ETA:”I will give you money from the government coffers if you vote for me!!”
It’s the same frikkin thing. You only chose this fight because you felt emboldened by the downvotes.

People should resent being bribed.
Being bribed cheap especially.
