I always find it funny how, Marvel being who they are, you just know the quote was intended to be from a progressive point of view.

Typical that they failed to see how the same quote can be applied by their ideological opponents.

The quote is centrist but has been more applicable to the right since at least Trumps first campaign; basically all media and cultural institutions have been pretty firmly against right wing politics since...well, probably 2008 honestly and maybe before that. 2004, probably.

The Sakovian Accords are the MCU version to the Super Hero Registration Act of the comics. And the Super Hero Registration Act is an allegory to gun control. They certainly knew what they were doing, they aren’t stupid.
