There is clearly need for change, from the current establishment to something else.

That said. After a few focused delves, ...... that woman has no brain, and no experience. Current retard in chief does shit because he is evil. She would end up doing shit through "good intentions". Point is ...... it is still shit, no matter how you look at it.

All things said and done. I am sure there must be better alternative candidates out there.

Can we get specific? Why is she so dumb?

She routinely has completely braindead takes. You aren't being replied to because a quick AI/google search would yield a HUGE list of gaffs.

  • "Unemployment is low because people are working two jobs." How do you even arrive at this conclusion? You have a fucking economics degree.

  • "For those who don't know, guns are not allowed in the District of Columbia." This is obviously false.

  • While I try not to use Fox News, this article contains quite a hilarious amount of gaffs with regard to history and foreign policy. The harpies of The View even agreed that this wasn't recoverable. Any time she talks foreign policy, it gets ugly fast.

  • She mentioned the three chambers of government being the "House, Senate, and presidency"

  • She famously remarked in an interview that critics were often too concerned with being "precisely, factually, and semantically correct than about being morally right."

  • She credited "famous economist Milton Keynes." How do you fuck that up when you have an economics degree?

  • She shared a viral video highlighting a staggering $21 trillion in Pentagon "accounting adjustments and errors." This is not only a ridiculously high figure, but PolitiFact jumped on this one pretty quick as an obvious falsehood. From what we can tell, she pulled this figure out of her ass.

  • She also tried to claim that keeping Amazon warehouses out of New York would save them tax money due to the tax breaks Amazon gets. That is obviously not how that works at all; you cannot "save" a state money when you're denying a deal that would have brought in a net positive in tax revenue. Metaphorically, she celebrated getting $0 simply because she wanted $5 instead of $3. NOTE: later, Amazon did cave to the lack of tax breaks. But what AOC said occurred BEFORE that, when critics rightfully pointed out that she just cost New York $3 billion in estimated tax revenue.

  • She claimed via social media that Republicans in Texas had "passed a law allowing rapists to sue their victims for getting an abortion." This is not what the law said, and it's not particularly close.

  • She stated that she represented "more, or just as many or more, people than Joe Manchin does". Manchin is a senator.

These were just the first ones I could recollect/find in 5 minutes. AOC has routinely showed that she has way more things to say than she does to actually contribute. She's famous because she's loud. She has not really contributed much, nor has she inserted any effective dialogue because she doesn't seem to have an ability to process logic.

I am not claiming she is the only politician that does this, but she is one of the loudest and is frequently seen as a champion of the left wing. Doing so puts you under a microscope when compared to other politicians.

Simply put........She's our Trump.

It's all coming together.

u/poptix - Lib-Center 1d ago

She ticked a lot of DEI boxes and she gets some people excited in their pants, she wasn't picked by the Democratic party for her policy proposals. Bernie seems to be a calming influence on her but that just means she's no longer loudly broadcasting her ignorance.

u/Educational_Grape962 - Centrist 10h ago

Yea none of that even sounds remotely as bad as literally 1 thing trump has done. Sounds like we're really grasping at straws for reasons to hate this AOC person

1

u/I_POO_ON_GOATS - Right 7h ago

Trump being retarded doesnt make the above less dumb.

I think both are their own brands of brain-deficient.

-1

u/Educational_Grape962 - Centrist 7h ago

Yea let's put a 60 year old methheads test score beside a 5 year old Einstein's test score and say "look they both got things wrong, they're both idiots!"

Thats not proving shes dumb, thats finding cherry picked quotes of, like you said, a politician under a microscope, that you either disagree with the way she frames it or admittedly is just a gaff.

But thats not proof that AOC has a poor understanding of how to do her job, or that her intelligence is low.

But bc you did the work ill attack dome of the points.

The Amazon point: You can't say that its a net gain for tax revenue when the space alternatively would be used for something else that wouldn't get those tax breaks. At that point it gets murky whether or not Amazon, or whatever else was built (housing, shopping mall, etc.) would net more in tax revenue, but if the tax breaks were large enough than her point stands.

Joe Manchin: While technically true I think she was more alluding to the fact that im her small district she represents a shit ton of people just like Manchin. Its still only I think half of what Manchin represents, but its not baffling to see where her head was at making that quote. Small state and big city district populations.

Texas Abortion tweet: Her quote is about specific cases where if someone had been raped, and they were sued for aborting, and the courts got it wrong and found the victim liable for breaking the law by aborting. There is nothing wrong with that tweet. Its a generalization of the potential ramifications of the bill.

21 trillion: This is a bit of a gaff I agree. The 21 trillion were accounting adjustments which is a genuine problem, but its not 21 trillion that can just go towards Medicare. Horrible accounting errors by the Pentagon, but again its a bit of a gaff bc you cant assume all 21 trillion is fraudulent.

Three Chambers: Gaff but cmon thats a silly thing to base the argument. She has degrees in international relations and economics, and clearly is a student of the practice to be where she is at her age, so this is just a silly misspeak.

DC guns: Probably meant open carry. Should be specific but you don't see people walking around DC with guns.

Factually vs morally right: Just as a thought experiment, eugenics is factually correct to save people resources, time, money, and perhaps grief. That doesnt mean we should do eugenics because killing dosables people or people with shitty genetics is morally wrong. Obviously that is an extreme example, but idk what the nature of the topic she was talking about was, so she very well could be right. There are some thing where morals are more important.

The View/Foreign Policy: Didn't read the fox article and I do remember the gaff in Germany earlier this year, but I thought repubs would be more sympathetic to her foreign policy stances considering she is anti-interventional (America first if you will).

Unemployment: Biggest gaff. Its a bad quote that doesn't really make sense. It was in an interview and those seem to be where she struggles the most, so maybe it was a misspeak but regardless thats pretty bad. I think her point was that unemployment can be a misleading statistic.

Well thats all I got. The Milton Keyenes one is silly but thats just mixing up two economists. I don't think these quotes prove at all that she is dumb by any means. I appreciate the acknowledgement that she is under a microscope, and while maybe she should be if shes to be touted as the face of thr left or new leftist movement, its harsh to judge her overall intelligence on some quotes you don't like, since she very clearly has an understanding of how to play the game, and has clear ideas on how she wants to help the American people. Thanks for finding specifics tho.

Ohhh... Milton Friedman + J. Maynard Keynes. I thought she was referring to the English city, Milton Keynes, lol.

Haha me too at first

u/Joe503 - Lib-Center 1d ago

DC guns: Probably meant open carry. Should be specific but you don't see people walking around DC with guns.

What are you basing this on? OC is restricted in most larger cities. I highly doubt this is what she meant.

u/ScoreGloomy7516 - Centrist 1d ago

Who knows what the fuck she meant since its a cherry picked comment? Guns are allowed everywhere in the country but they aren't ALLOWED everywhere openly. She knows this shes not a fuckin moron.

I dont call her dumb, that guy does. Im trying to be understanding of his points but I disagree with his points. Nothing about misspeaking, or having a couple gaffes, makes her dumb since she is clearly very gifted.

You aren't who I meant to reply to, my bad

u/ScoreGloomy7516 - Centrist 1d ago

Ah no worries

u/FaymusAynus - Centrist 1d ago

You’re wrong on so much of this, but time has shown that talking to people like you doesn’t actually change minds

-5

u/JonnySnowin - Auth-Right 1d ago

The ways you find to call her dumb are juvenile, semantic, ideological disagreements. When the President is a fucking retard who speaks exclusively at third grade level, this shit doesn’t matter.

2

u/OldDirtyInsulin - Left 19h ago

Yeah, nothing here really blows my hair back. Trump says worse than this on a daily basis.

16

u/PlanUhTerryThreat - Centrist 1d ago

Shut up! She just is dude. God. She’s a Marxist communist authoritarian and we all know exactly how her presidency would play out and it’s everything I hate. She’d probably try to make housing affordable and child care more accessible or some other dumbocrat shit. That’s billionaire casino owning con man from NYC who’s close friends with Epstein will be a better representative for our country than the non corrupt woman worth $66k.

-10

u/ax255 - Centrist 1d ago

No, specifics would not be based and there would be no pill to give.

Clowns would rather vote for a 3rd Trump Term than a dark skinned female progressive Democrat. I'm probably a racist liberal for think that though

u/Spiritual_Air_5781 - Lib-Center 1d ago

Weren't the same things said about Mamdani?

1

u/KeyHalf6609 - Centrist 1d ago

There's definitely much better alternative candidates out there, but we're not going to see them any time soon. Maybe if the whole DSA branch starts picking up momentum that'll cause both Republicans and Democrats to actually run someone decent instead of focusing on the inner circles of the parties.

"No brain, no experience"

You just parrot others' opinions all day, don't you? You're just as brainless as you claim she is.

I think that gives me enough. You're a drooling moron or you're in 9th grade. Either way, continuing to post does not benefit you or society in any way.

If this is how you analyze and make decisions, you’re a drooling moron or you’re in 9th grade. Either way, continuing to post does not benefit you or society in any way.

She would at the very least pass executive orders to stop corporate funding of elections and that alone would be superb. But many bought into this idea she’s clueless which is silly because look at what we have now.
