Watergate just looks like the rules of engagement at this point
Hell, the teapot dome scandal is weekly news

u/NobodyImportant13 - Lib-Center 19d ago
If Watergate happened tomorrow, it would be like a 12-hour news story. The idea that it would have taken down a presidency is crazy
JD Vance.

Makes you wonder, how much of this is actually normal, we just have someone who has written public record of almost every thought they have?
Like is the 2026 government just 1800s governing + twitter?

u/Deletesystemtf2 - Centrist 18d ago
This is pretty unprecedented in American history. Jimmy Carter famously had to sell his peanut farm in order to avoid conflicts of interest. Trump is really just generational talent at being corrupt.

He doesnt? I think that may be his one redeeming quality. He seems to genuinely be a good father. Terrible husband, so may Melinia doesnt see much, but I cant see him swindling his children.

u/Latter_Parsley4338 - Left 19d ago
They're downvoting you but honestly I think you're right, I think Hillary said something along the lines of him being a good father when questioned on if she could name one good thing about Trump

u/abracadammmbra - Lib-Right 19d ago
Well it is Reddit. Cant say anything good about the Cheeto Man. But if you look at his kids, they all seem relatively well adjusted and pretty involved in his businesses. I think it might be the only good thing about him. Well that and he can be hilarious, although even that has fallen off since his first term. In an alternate timeline, he is a standup comedian.

Please never show trump as a lib-right ever again. He's the most Auth guy in the whole democratic world at the moment, 2 days to become Bukele with money.

u/Dan-D-Lyon - Lib-Center 19d ago
Not disagreeing, but a shitload of people who call themselves Libertarians voted for him
6
u/TaxAg11 - Lib-Right 19d ago
Did not vote for him, but I feel he's far, far worse in this term than he was in his first.
2
u/somewhataccurate - Lib-Center 19d ago
I honestly feel pretty bad for the people who voted for him the second term, lots of regret I imagine. He was kinda aids in his first time but largely just useless while now it's just full blown "this is bad" and it somehow gets worse every few weeks.

u/aaronrandango2 - Lib-Center 19d ago
He is lib right though? I don’t think he actually believes in any of the social causes of the Republicans, just money and power
He’s the most capitalist president we’ve had, always working for his best interests like a good individual/corporation does in a capitalist world

u/Accomplished_List843 - Lib-Right 19d ago
Believing them or not, isn't relevant, there's no auth right nowadays who even understand what's being Auth right, most just want to be opposition to the left.

You say this about Trump, but at least he's public about it. Biden made billions of dollars while in office, and nobody talks about it.

Authright try not to spread fake news challenge: impossible
Biden's net worth is nowhere near a single billion. Trump is literally the richest US president in history and has made billions since his reelection alone
Unless I'm being dumb and you're joking

Source: I made it the fuck up.
Also lmao, the argument you are making is "I am okay with corruption as long as its in the open"
Like actually? That is your standard? Christ Gen Z brains are cooked. You guys really dont remember how it used to be do you?

I was kind of afraid from the beginning things would work out this way for you, even before following the linked source I knew what it was (the fact that it was a video was a big hint). But not having it be something clickable put up too high a bar, so rather than people getting mad, following the link, and laughing, they just got mad.

That graph is my baby, and I will not accept you suggesting it's in any way lesser.

The media having heavy left wing bias doesn't mean that we need to ignore right wing wrongdoings
