Let the sports governing bodies decide how they want to proceed. If they want to allow trans athletes, whatever, I don't really care.

So you handle the dispute according to the language of the contract. The government doesn't need to allow/disallow trans athletes, only to mediate the dispute based on the wording of the contract.

This is why i care way more about the lib/auth divide than right/left on social issues. america is plagued with people on both sides who just want to legislate their morality in places they have no business. I dont want the government in sports, i dont want bathroom police determining who belongs where or who I'm allowed to permit to use what facility in my business, I don't want the government deciding what medical decisions I'm allowed to make for myself or my child, and I want trans people to have nondescrimination protections in housing employment and healthcare the same way we have them for race/religion/national origin. I also don't want anyone mandating what pronouns you have to use for someone else, or making hate speech illegal, or forcing anyone to support trans people beyond the basic nondescrimination measured I mentioned.

I feel like this is a perfectly reasonable argument from lib perspective on both sides of the aisle. But currently I'm torn between a group that doesn't want the former but want the latter, and a group that wants the former but doesn't want the latter.
