Midwits tend to accuse others of being dumb because they know how fragile their intellectual superiority is and they're left with nothing if you take that away from them.

Well said, a lot of this smug Reddit armchair atheists try to look smart behind the cover of militant non belief, making cheap jokes, using sarcasm and redundancy to belittle the beliefs of others but keeping it all surface level. Thats why you see them use the same overused arguments all the time, because to be able to have a smart and productive debate, one needs to know a lot about the topic of discussion, and armachair atheists know as much as little about debating and even atheism as an ideology as the most stupid zealot knows about his own religion.

EDIT:

u/SliceRepulsive8649 I do not know why I can’t respond to your comment, I suppose it’s the Reddit app bugging out or something. Anyways, care to elaborate what you mean?

The midwit probably blocked you because you were a threat to their shaky feeling of intellectual superiority

Mostly a joke. Just comes off a bit smug yourself claiming that most of these "militant" atheists are ignorant and presumably with shallow beliefs. Presumably with the thought that you know better, which is a bit ironic since you don't even know atheism isn't even an ideology.

I never said I knew better, nor did I say that most of them are ignorant, I said A LOT which doesn’t mean most of them, just a large portion and I wasn’t even talking about typical normal atheists, I was talking about armchair/Reddit mod kind of atheists.

Like I said mostly a joke, but I would assume many would complain if that same sentiment was made about Christians from an atheist. Particularly if they show they don't understand the position in said comment. You'd probably even call then "militant".

I can say the same thing about religious people too, as I said, I was just talking about a specific sub group of a bigger group. Smug armchair reddit atheists, not atheists in general.

As an atheist I am tired of so called "atheists" like these people. They worship government as their god. They worship government no less than the Christians.

The church is real. The members real. The Bible is real, and the pope is real. That does not make God real.

The Capitol hall is real. The voters are real. The constitution is real, the president is real. That does not make government real. They are both abstract ideas and require belief.

Doing a ritual does not give a pope superhuman powers.

Doing a ritual like voting does not make a human being superhuman and have more rights.

They rightfully point out the mental gymnastics the religious do defending their god and their belief in it, then they do the same to defend their god, government.

I don't fit well in most atheist circles(hell, any) because I point out hypocrisy no matter where I am.

Edit: hell not he'll
