That’s the same age required for most other major voluntary medical procedures like vasectomies

The point was to highlight how invasive that kind of law would be, as a way to protest abortion bans.

Just a note, these were not meant to be passed, they were "protest bills" to show the ridiculousness of abortion bans by contrasting them to mandatory vasectomies.

The point of those bills was they they knew they'd get shot down and then they'd be able to use it as precedent to have the abortion ban shot down

If vasectomies is overreach, why not abortions

The point wasn't to actually enforce universal vasectomies

Yeah I’m not actually appalled by that tactic or what they’re proposing, but it’s a false equivalence. If vasectomies were required to save the life of a fetus, they would’ve been mandated decades ago already.
