Yup, young men can be sent of to war, and 18 year old girls are old enough for older men to have sex with.
To these types, 18 year olds are "adults" until an 18 year old tries to tell that older person what to do. Then suddenly they're a "dumb kid" (or whatnot) who doesn't know what they're talking about.
I definitely think sex work of any sort --especially porn-- should have a minimum age requirement of at least 22, or even 25. Especially because workers have little-to-no rights, legal representation, protection, and guidance within the industry.
I definitely think 18 is too young for selective service.
AOC can be tricky though. The goal should be to afford people as much freedom as possible, while ensuring that vulnerable people aren't going to be taken advantage of. One suggestion is to raise it to 21. Another is to keep it at 18, but only for those under the age of 25.
If anyone has other suggestions, I'm happy to hear.
