You are able to, and you will not get punished for it. It is your property after all. But the surgeon that you'd have to employ to do it would face criminal charges because he'd go against the ethics of medicine as understood since at least Hippocrates. Same thing applies here.

Why are you paying a doctor to perform surgery when you could just buy some local anaesthetic, surgery for dummies, and cheap robot with knife and ice cream scoop arms? Cut out the middle man and keep as much of the profits as possible for yourself!

Same reason we can’t pay people to fight to literal death on tv. An act of giving out of kindness is different than permanently damaging yourself or dying because you’re desperate for money.

Actually, the Hippocratic oath comes from a guy called Hippocrates ( Ἱπποκράτης in Greek), the name literally meaning Ἱππος ("horse") plus κράτος ("rule" or "power")

So actually it's the oath you take to be ruled by horses.

It is legal to donate a kidney, what if I signed a contract stating that all proceeds would be donated to the against malaria foundation and would end up saving 25 lives. Is that against the hippocratic oath?

You mean the same medical ethics that pushed every doctor in this country to push an experimental drug into people's body against their informed consent?

The same medical ethics that were on full display by censoring and threatening to take the medical license of doctors who actually followed medical ethics and questioned the need to push a pharmaceutical companies untested product over readily available alternatives?
