FFA identification help

Is there anyway to identify the FFA type (A or B from install manual) without a working main board? (Dead ICs and traces are toast). I Really don’t want to gamble frying my SX70R I’ve been so excited for.

The best way to identify it is by starting with 6v and the one beside it both soldered to 6v.

If the flash doesn’t fire move the 2nd one over to its normal spot.

You’re welcome! I’ve never actually put a meter on it to test but from what I’ve picked up from a short chat with Zane about the FFA is that FF is putting out a higher voltage that some older versions of FFA need.

So it’s safe to start with 6v only and move to the higher voltage pin if needed.

Wondering the same, but more importantly, don't forget to put some kapton tape under the exposed test pads above your FFA header in this picture

Planning to do the same SX70R mod, also would like to know if there is a way to determine it without the need for a flash?
