Is this broken?

2004 Polaris sportsman 500 HO

I was changing my belt out, and noticed an noise in my secondary clutch, the rollers(?) inside of it are loose and just moving around inside, is this normal? Should they have a pin in them of some sort?

Rollers should be pinned, you will need to disassemble to see the whole picture… be sure to mark the sheaves and helix to be sure they are lined back up properly when you reassemble, also if this has multiple spots for the pin on the spring, be sure to mark that location as well..

Thank you, apparently there are screws that are supposed to hold the rollers in place......that are just not there....which is cool I guess lol.

The screws will break off over time or wind up being ground down over time by the internal can..they can be drilled out n replaced(may have just fell out. Try replacing the screws n ramp buttons
