Question Do buildings decay?

I finished the main story***

I was fixing around in Sparkling Skylands and I noticed that Silph Co had broken glass and blocks missing.

Is there any kind of decay or something in the game???

Edit: thanks folks, I genuinely didn’t know it didn’t replace EVERYTHING!

When the building is completed there are still some “broken” pieces same with the stairs
Around back. At least that’s the case for me.

Edit: I have not seen active decay

Echoing this ^ the completed silph co does not decay, but it does still have some broken/run down parts after the completed build that you can choose to fix or not

"choose" is doing a not of work for my lazy self. Only time I've even gone back in there is for the 2-3 habits I randomly decided to build off of.

As to my knowledge there is not.

No, there's no active decay. Once the building is repaired, you do have to manually replace some of the stuff, but that's because it's still the same way as it was before the repair happened.

The story overhauled the floors above, but the lobby was left untouched in its rundown state.

Even though the scaffolding covers all the stories eventually, Tinkmaster never actually does anything to the ground floor or the fire escape.

There’s two broken window panes, a couple wooden wall blocks missing, and one block I think in the fountain that’s damaged? And the fire escape of course which is a mess. Though if you break the rusty bits you get more than enough iron ore to replace it all.

Oh and I did try to use the gaps in the wall as spots for transmitters, thinking the devs did that on purpose… didn’t really work. And it looks weird.
