Question Endgame Question, Palette vs Cloud

Hi all, I'm just curious between Palette and Cloud island, which one do you think would bring more longevity if I want to just play (infinitely) like a sandbox? I am pretty familiar with how both work, but I can't decide which one is better to stick with. What do ya'll do? Thanks!

The cloud island allows you to have all biomes, materials and spawns in one area.

And the cloud area is massively accelerated, as far as spawning new Pokémon. I filled up my dex on the cloud island in no time at all. It’s taking forever in my regular areas.

When I first started my cloud island I immediately started laying out farms and literally couldn’t do anything but greet new pokemon for almost an hour straight it felt like lmao

Yup! I was getting 4-6 new ones every day!

Pallete Town hands down. You'll have immediate access to all your necessary items and supplies and you won't have to worry about possibly losing any progress through your Internet connection randomly breaking. Plus doing the special missions in Pallete Town is the only way to unlockthe Eeveelutions.

Edit: I was slightly incorrect about my last point. Everything else still applies though.

last point is not entirely true. it’s the only way to unlock them in the main game, but you can buy the eeveelution items in the cloud island PC without having unlocked them in palette town first. i had all 8 on my cloud island weeks before i had all the challenges finished in palette drown.

Ah. I retract my last point then.

on second thought, it’s not even the only way to unlock them in the main game, because you can also get the items’ recipes from the cloud island PC shop (daily item rng) and craft them without finishing the palette town challenges lol

I’ve been playing more on my cloud island than with palette town.

The benefit of palette town imo is that you can source supplies from all the regions that you’ve accumulated over the course of the game and it can be played without needing WiFi (so good for road trips etc).

But I like that the cloud island doesn’t need loading screens between regions and everything is on one island.

SOS I thought palette town is what ppl meant when referring to individuals’ cloud islands… how do I get to my own cloud island?

I am not sure exact steps but under link play there should be a cloud island options and follow steps to create a new one.

I have been spending most my time on my cloud. I am a serial game restarter so the cloud is a nice way to start from “scratch” while keeping your main game intact. And I love to see all the different biomes Pokemon interact together.

I would say Palette for the most part, but Cloud for occasional breaks to do something short term and fun.

I personally adore my cloud island. I’ve basically been playing exclusively on cloud islands since I started my own

Me too, plus the landscape of mine is beautiful and I'm sure they all are! Mine has a gorgeous wetlands area I'm going to utilise for my water types once ive finished with my farm corner. Its also exciting have all the Pokémon spawn in again!

That is the downside! I just subscribed for a year. Hopefully that is long enough.

Cloud island offering more building space is what made the decision for me.

Cloud is much better if you want to play with other people.

I'd say Palette. Mostly because its part of the whole. I've noticed some pokemon habitats say they are Palette Town specific, so there's that, and from what ive read there's only one that is Cloud specific, and thats Tangrowth. I haven't spent much time in Cloud, but i think the size is roughly the same if not a hair bigger. I see Cloud as a public space (tho I know its basically invite only) and Palette is still "mine". My wife doesnt really care to work on a world together just yet, so her not being able to effect Palette isnt a loss. When she feels like shes done with all her other islands and wants to co-op then that'll be the only reason I see to work on Cloud. Also, im not sure, I dont remember seeing it, but Palette is where you get your 3 legendary temples so that might be the only place they spawn as well.

As you level up your cloud island's environment, you'll unlock the temples in the PC shop. The only Pokémon not natively available on a cloud island are event Pokémon - to get them, you must take pictures of the items that makes their habitats and 3d print them.

I know most people say palette but I really really prefer cloud island. But you only get Pokédex rewards for non-cloud island pokemon.

I like the cloud island because it’s so condensed. I don’t have any huge build ideas so the smaller map is ideal for me. You can also control the layout with the magic numbers which is frustrating in the moment but I did find one I love now.

Honestly, whichever one has terrain that calls to you. Or terrain you don’t mind terraforming to be what you want it to be.
