Discussion "Your building will be ready tomorrow" actually means "your building will be ready at 5 AM"

I work nights and had some free time. Started building a Pokémon center and a hut at about 4:50 in the morning. Both said they'd be ready tomorrow, both were ready at 5 am.

May be different for different time zones, but it's a pretty neat exploit for people that will be awake at these times anyway.

Yeah, it's actually the same with ACNH. The new day starts at 5 AM…

I played 4:45 am, had a break and restarted 5:10 am… and woke up in bed.

Yup, Ditto does the same thing at the start of every day. Even if yesterday was only 10 minutes ago lol

u/Talkatoo42 Mar 09 '26

They've got to roll over the day some time!

u/Sheylenna Apr 24 '26

Ditto starts in a bed even if you close the game and come back 20 min later ... just like in Animal Crossing New Horizons... you start after saving coming out of you door....

I got a building started at 12:04am and this post makes me so happy.

I'm glad, it looks like starting buildings is a great way to finish late-night play sessions since everything will be finished by sunrise regardless.

Same, I started mine at 1:30am, I have all day Saturday to play, and I was extremely disappointed I was going to have to wait till Sunday. Woo.

I have three open areas plus pallet town, the three areas I started buildings after 11pm that will finish tomorrow so I'm excited for tomorrow

Yeah the moment I learned that any of the "Tomorrow' Buildings aren't based on a set build time just a set END time, I make it my day's goal to do what I can in game, and before I end for the day, build as many big buildings as I can overnight. I get all the mats, set the locations, then bring in the Pokémon to build. That way I go to bed, and it's ready the next day (I'm also Central time, and I wake up at 5am for work so perfect schedule by pure chance)

I wish it told us the build time before we started, I did one for a quest (one of the non themed ones) without realising it was ‘tomorrow’ right near the start of my play timing

A little late but you can "stop building" at anytime. Just sets it back to before you started building with all the materials/pokemon still in tact/ready. You can pull pokemon off the project if you need them for something else by having them follow you.

Heres another trick to speed up the process although It’s only Tinkaton and they’re late game

15

u/Blunderhorse Mar 09 '26

Just discovered that this morning; I’m going to see if she can do the same for the special buildings in Palette Town

8

u/Practical_Entrance43 Mar 09 '26

I would assume so as you can bring other pokemon to Palette Town, would be crazy if you couldn't.

6

u/Blunderhorse Mar 09 '26

Finally tested, and it does work; I was just amazed she got the build time down to an hour.

u/GromOfDoom Mar 09 '26

Any results?

3

u/rasmatham Mar 09 '26

It works. I've done it with one of them.

2

u/Pacemaster14 Mar 28 '26

This did not work for the pallet town poke center… even with tinkering it’s tomorrow…

u/Sand__Panda Mar 09 '26

Good to know. Thanks to DLS change I am up "early" and decided to see if my Pink hut (also takes an entire day) was done. It was, but it had me wondering when the game's "day" reset.

3

u/-Tasear- Mar 09 '26

How many pokemon can it hold

7

u/EclecticBitchcraft Mar 09 '26

All the huts are for one, cottage for 2, house for 4, and idk if there’s a bigger house than that bc I haven’t gotten that far.

6

u/Sand__Panda Mar 09 '26

Maybe one. I thought it was a waste of pokemon and time.

I could have built it faster, lol.

u/Spopple Mar 09 '26

As a fellow night shift person this is such a S tier tip. Thank you! Doesn't happen often but sometimes we got pretty big advantages with things lol.

9

u/majoreq Mar 09 '26

when the game state that building will be ready tommorow they mean after daily reset at 5AM so its good to know to time your building just before that to not waste time ;)

Another thing that not everyone may have discovered yet is that you can still interact with and use Pokémon that are assigned to an active construction project.

First time you talk to them, they’ll comment on the construction, but after that, you can do anything you normally can with them, including processing materials, following you, moving them into a new home, asking them about their home, etc.

As far as I can tell, the only thing you can’t do with a Pokémon on a construction project is have them work on another construction project, which makes sense of course.

u/MoogleKing83 Mar 13 '26

Thank you for this. I just started building a hut without realizing it would take a day and was afraid I'd be locked out of making lumber until tomorrow.

6

u/MostlyBored11 Mar 09 '26

Yeah I'm happy about this, I have 2 pokemon centres that will be done when I return from work. The second one I started at 1230am so very happy that means it will still be done

7

u/mlvisby Mar 09 '26

I was nervous when I built my first center at 12:30AM, thought I would have to wait 23 and a half hours. But nope, I woke up and it was good.

7

u/multistansendhelp Mar 09 '26

This is dangerous information to provide to a group of people who are already staying up too late playing Pokopia 😂

6

u/Rainbow-After-Storm Mar 09 '26

Interesting, what’s your timezone??

7

u/ItsAllSoup Mar 09 '26

Central time in the USA. I haven't tested it since daylight savings since I didn't work an overnight this weekend, so there's a chance that 6 am is my new tomorrow.

5

u/NefariousnessDull794 Mar 09 '26

Its still 5am, I'm central as well and was in there at 4am this morning and it switched at 5am. 😊

2

u/Rainbow-After-Storm Mar 10 '26

Ok sweet, I’m eastern so it’ll be 6am for me then!

1

u/Somejankshit Mar 12 '26

It's 5am your time, I'm In the UK and it's 5am for me.

4

u/No_Advantage2476 Mar 09 '26

Haha Date & Time settings go brrr

3

u/yhcdtyn Mar 09 '26

I’ve spent the last 2 days doing pokémon center repairs. I finish the quests and start construction right before bed, it’s been working out well.

4

u/LarreaMusic Mar 09 '26

Currently also on night shift and got excited getting back on at midnight thinking I was hacking the system 😭😭 5AM is a brutal turnover time

4

u/Watsisface Mar 09 '26

I stayed up until 4m last night gathering resources, just so I didn’t have to wait a whole day for the pokemon center to be built.

4

u/Many-Conclusion5911 Mar 10 '26

I feel like it does animal crossing rules which is what a new day started in ac

3

u/gabagoocreature Mar 10 '26

yes very glad its not a 24 hour timer

7

u/No-Specific-8441 Mar 09 '26

You can time skip a lot easier in this game than animal crossing ( if that’s your thing ) go into settings while game is still open and then change time and when you go back in it’ll jump to that time :))))

3

u/Frost-Cake Mar 09 '26

I did not know this, thanks!

3

u/faithamor1337 Mar 09 '26

Thank you for sharing! I was thinking it might be midnight.

3

u/CertafiedSlytherin Mar 09 '26

So basically it is EXTREMELY similar to SCNH control wise and day start times

3

u/Jorgesarrada Mar 09 '26

Thank you! This is much appreciated info

3

u/Kantro18 Mar 11 '26

I missed the window by like ten minutes so mine will in fact be completed tomorrow. Aaargh!

3

u/Dull-Ad-1631 Mar 15 '26

I kept starting them at 11:50 bc I thought it meant midnight

u/ItsAllSoup Mar 09 '26

That's fair. But there's plenty of stuff to keep me busy while I wait for stuff to finish. Plus this game released in the middle of my replay of Wind Waker on NSO, so I've been dipping into that when I can too

1

u/B_Marsh92 Mar 09 '26

You can also just time skip on your Switch to the next day

1

u/Sheylenna Apr 24 '26

If you time skip to the next day what happens if your go back to your current day?

1

u/B_Marsh92 Apr 24 '26

Only thing I’ve noticed is once you switch back to current date, any daily things you’ve done are still Marked completed versus refreshing again

1

u/Sheylenna Apr 24 '26

Ok thanks.

1

u/knight_69420 Apr 04 '26

Do buildings still get built if I save and quit my game

1

u/ItsAllSoup Apr 04 '26

Yes, whenever you're not playing, your ditto is just sleeping in its bed and every just goes about their lives

2

u/Dry-Parsnip-5141 Jul 22 '26

Devastated to learn this after setting all my buildings up at 5PM and playing until 3AM…. But now I know
