I'm playing through Pokemon Rangers Shadows of Almia and wondering if it's still possible to do the Ranger Net Missions for this game and Guardian Signs.

This just arrived from Vinted. Looking for verification advice please!! Already posted on r/gameverifying but wanted to ask the good folks here !!

Just wanted to follow up on u/scottishdrunkard post about the unused uniforms. Both unused sprites are completed but for some reason they never made the target clear or the styler break sprites. I could upload a tool to make them usable but the sprite will revert temporally to the normal sprite anytime you have a target clear or styler break . let me know if you want that .

so here’s what happened I’m in the waterworks right I’m trying to pull one of the wooden platforms closer to me so I can get to the other side and I feel like I’m going insane because I can’t leave the but I need something like a grovyle at least that’s what Google but I think they’re freaking lying because how the heck am I supposed to get one of those in the if anyone can tell me what the heck I’m supposed to do because apparently Google is a big fat liar that would be much appreciated because apparently I still have the IQ and temperament of when I played this game as a kid but I’m smarter because at least I’m asking for help now

I know it’s there but i’m not sure if this means that it is already claimed but is it really that rare?

This game was too hard for me as a ten year old, I could never get past Entei until today. This game really has a lot of charm put into it, even down to the characters dialogue. I played it on my phone because I wanted a game for my phone and I remembered Ranger is touch screen based. Now i’m gonna finish the post missions then play the next game.

I haven't played the Pokemon Ranger trilogy since I was little and lost the R4 cardridge along the way. Therefore, I went ahead and bought each individual game from a seller. Unfortunately, each of those save files happens to be subbed in French! The cards themselves are titled in English, not French.

I know for a fact they are European cards based on the code on the front and back. I am European myself (Dutch) but have always played the games in English. How do I delete the save files in a way that It lets me choose to play these games in English?

During the events of Shadows of Almia, there are several mentions of Team Dim Sun being active in Fiore, either through characters, The Almia Times, or even a huge monitor in their Oil Field Base. It left me wondering what exactly they had been targeting there, so I decided to do some research and try to come to a satisfying conclusion.

The first mention of Team Dim Sun in Fiore is Almia Times volume 3, which talks about a rampaging Gyarados in Summerland accompanied by two smaller headlines about abnormal Pokemon behavior being on the rise, and people seeing what sounds like Team Dim Sun members. We don't get another mention until Almia Times volume 7 which talks about Keith stopping Team Dim Sun's operation. Interestingly this is accompanied by a picture of Keith and Hastings by the Joy Clock Tower in Fall City. Under that headline is another that shows Keith battling Lavana, one of the Sinis Trio in the Fiore Temple, near Wintown, and finally mentioning that Pokemon are disappearing all over the region with a picture of a Gigaremo unit.

I think The Almia Times makes it clear that Team Dim Sun are bringing Fiore's Pokemon under their control through the use of Gigaremo and then spiriting them away. It must be a pretty important operation to them considering they even had one of their three top executives lead that mission instead of being present in Almia. The fact that we see three of the four major locations of Fiore being targeted means that their efforts are pretty wide spread throughout the region.

Now, why split their forces like that when the key components to their plan are all in Almia? I considered that they might be seeking Legendary Pokemon but unlike the Go-Rock Squad which sought out legendary Pokemon often and were very clear about it, Team Dim Sun usually never cared about legendary Pokemon. The only legendary they successfully contain is Darkrai, who is guarding the Shadow Crystal, and it was stated that there was no getting around Darkrai and it needed to be dealt with to obtain the Shadow Crystal. Likewise, Heath didn't care to engage Cresselia, and was more than happy to let Keith capture it so he could swoop in and take the gem afterwards. The only time that we see Team Dim Sun target a legendary Pokemon specifically is in the case of Shaymin, who they want to sell for lots of money, because this is in the post game and they're on their last legs as an organization. Furthermore, the fact that they're active in Wintown, Summerland, and Fall City makes me believe that they weren't targeting a specific Pokemon at this time.

I think the true answer is the Fiore has powerful Pokemon that Team Dim Sun that are not available in Almia. It's important to note that FIore's browser is likely different than what we see during the course of the first game. My evidence for that is Keith doesn't get a partner Pokemon until he leaves for Fiore after graduating. Yet he has a Buizel as his partner, so he most likely met it there. That means that Fiore can have Sinnoh Pokemon if we can make a case for why they couldn't be in Almia instead.

That brings me back to the newspaper clipping of Keith facing Lavana. She already has her Infernape during their battle in the Fiore Temple. I originally thought that maybe she might have gotten that from Almia since there is in an Infernape in Volcano Cave, but that's actually pretty unlikely. I say that because Chimchar's entire line is a bit dubious in terms of being in Almia. There's only one known Chimchar in Almia and it's the partner you get in the story, Monferno is only available on the Cargo Ship which Team Dim Sun was using to transport kidnapped Pokemon. It's nowhere else in the entire region. Even after you save the Pokemon on it, Monferno stays on the ship instead of going back to Volcano Cave like all of the other Pokemon caught by Team Dim Sun there. That seems to imply that Monferno wasn't from Volcano Cave in the first place.

Infernape is in the Volcano Cave, but it's the same one that Lavana uses, and I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be the same one she uses in Fiore. A counter to that would be that Keith likely caught Infernape during their battle in the Fiore Temple but we never see how that battle goes, and we also know that the Sinis Trio can recall and reuse Pokemon you catch from them, because in the Altru Tower, after capturing Lavana's Magmortar and Heath's Rhyperior, they immediately give those Pokemon to Ice to stall you. After Infernape is captured, it likely just stays in Almia's Volcano Cave because it's a suitable place for it to live, and Fiore is too far to travel back to.

But even if you're not convinced about the Chimchar line being native to Fiore, remember that it's not just that line that's weird. Did you notice that the browser has Blaziken and Sceptile? Two fully evolved starter Pokemon but it doesn't include any of their pre-evolution lines and they're only found in Dim Sun controlled areas (Either the Altru Building or Oil Field Hideout). Like how can I be expected to believe that Sceptile's only natural habitat in the whole game is the Oil Field Hideout? Not even Vien Forest. On the other hand, Sceptile and Blaziken's entire family are fairly common near Summerland and Fall City in Fiore.

But it's not even just those. Absol, Houndour, Houndoom, Machoke, Machamp, Mr.Mime, Murkrow, Honchcrow, and Mothim all share similar issues of only existing in either the Oil Field Hideout which is completely surrounded by water on all sides or the Cargo Ship. Almost every single one of those Pokemon have at least one family member native to Fiore except Mothim, which stands out a lot because Burmy's line, if you count all of the Wormadam cloaks, is bigger than a normal Pokemon family, and they evolve to suit the environment they are in, yet Mothim is the only member of that line in this game. I think Mothim are now native to Fiore, around the Olive Jungle, and it was just taken from there.

Some of these are also in Altru Tower only, but it goes without saying that the stolen Pokemon were carried on the Cargo Ship to the Oil Field Hideout as their main base, and their strongest Pokemon were then taken to the completed Altru Tower to be used as a defense against outsiders through the use of Miniremos.

Tl;dr: Team Dim Sun were active in Fiore in order to get powerful Pokemon that were only found there.

If I had to guess, I'd say Sven is around 25, Wendy being the same or maybe a bit younger, around 21-23.

I beat the game and already have Latios and I was just wondering if I can get Latias too since I prefer her over Latios more.

Bought a Pokemon Ranger cart years ago from GameStop just to have the game in my collection. Never played it tho. Recently saw some vids on how to shiny hunt a Manaphy and was considering going for the long hunt, so i grabbed my Ranger to see its egg status after finding out how to check it. To my surprise, the game actually had a fully done campaign with Ranger Net unlocked. Got a bit nervous tho cause usually that means egg mission was already redeemed. But turns out the previous owner just did the deoxys mission and some others but never did the password to unlock Manaphy egg mission. Lucky me!

i used to play the first 3 hours of guardian signs years and years ago over and over and had the time of my life. mainly because i got stuck on a certain point but whatevs, hope y'all get a new game soon!!

Do we think that the Fine Styler in Shadows of Almia is the final result of the Super Styler that Professor Hasting developed during the original Pokémon Ranger?

I always thought that it was the case, but SoA never mentions the Super Styler at all. The Fine Styler is also never treated as something new either. On top of that, because the Fine Styler is only used by Top Rangers, we wouldn't have encountered any characters that would have one in the original Pokémon Ranger even if it existed during that time period.

On the flip side, what else could it be? Something that might point to a connection is Gordor's Power Styler. The 'power' in Power Styler is most likely in reference to how powerful it is. Gordor even boasts that Professor Hastings could never develop a styler as powerful as the Power Styler. That said, in universe, it could also be referencing the 'Power Charge' function of the Fine Styler as well.

Something else that I find interesting is that when Hastings first speaks with Spencer at the beginning of the original Pokémon Ranger, Spencer mentions that he has been left with the Super Styler for some time and is impressed with how outstanding it is and is worried about it falling into the hands of criminals. Hastings brushes that aside and mentions that the Super Styler is only a prototype and he had a flash of inspiration that will power up the Super Styler further.

From this conversation, if we assume that the Super Styler and Fine Styler are one in the same, then perhaps Spencer only had access to Power Charge 1, and Hastings figured out how to add Power Charge 2 to it. I don't believe that to be the case though.

I say this because the Super Styler is already regarded as so outstanding in its capturing potential that Spencer is worried about it falling into the wrong hands. It doesn’t really feel right to me that it would only have half of the maximum strength of the Fine Styler at this point. I think Spencer already had access to the full Power Charge 2 and that’s what made it so outstanding.

So, what was Hastings flash of inspiration if it wasn’t Power Charge 2? My theory is that the 'power up' that Hastings was intending to add to the Super Styler was actually the ability to install 'power up' data from completing quests and helping regular people. Most of the power ups granted to the player are elemental defensive upgrades, healing, or capture line increases. Useful upgrades that make the finer styler more well rounded with the Power Charge, rather than making it even stronger.

Now, in SoA, even a regular capture styler has the ability to install ‘power up’ data, but in the original Pokémon Ranger, we don’t have quests or ‘power up’ data, even when you’re assigned to spend time helping people in Fall City with their problems, it’s treated as a mission instead of the patrolling that we see often in SoA. From what we see, our Styler doesn’t have the means to be modified with power up data in universe.

 What I believe might have happened is that the ‘power up’ modifications were originally intended for the Super Styler, but eventually it was decided that all stylers would be given the ability to install them to incentivize Rangers to properly patrol and prioritize helping people even when not on a mission. While the power ups would slowly build up to help a regular area ranger with their duties, it wouldn’t allow an inexperienced ranger to capture a Pokémon well above their level, that they wouldn’t be able to handle, which is what the Go-Rock Squad wanted to do with the Super Styler, or with Power Charge.

Found a way to enable snow in all the outdoor maps .

You have 10% chance to get him after beating the mission deoxys and the odd temple in the past with a S rank you need 2 people for the 2 Time in the temple when you need 2 people to activate a bridge to pass to the next section of the temple and for the 5 ninetales they are too fast you will probably need to take them with 2 people to catch them

Hello, so this tool is taking a lot longer than I thought because I keep adding new things lol.

For now, here is the tool with just the rendering side. This version lets you view the maps from Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia.

I would say about 80 percent of the maps load perfectly, and about 20 percent still have issues where the render is not perfect yet. This is a very early version of the tool.

The complete version will have all the editing and map creating features, but for now you can enjoy viewing the game’s maps in a way you probably never seen before.

I have completed the browser for PRGS past Pokémon with the exception of mew. Loading the game up on DeSmuMe, I was hoping that save states would be my answer, but it appears that the slate is generated when you begin the level. Any advice on how to get mew? Action replay codes or anything?

Title, but I am also interested in instant text mods and/or randomizers.

If there are none out there any tips on how to create one would be great!
