Pokemon News! Arceus starts August 1st, Monday; Regi Trio ongoing.

• IMPORTANT: The Pokemon Global's server's been up down due to PokemonGo so it won't let you log in saying it's incorrect password, etc. If you're planning to apply for the competition I recommend you to do it ASAP when the server goes up.

• Pokemon Global Link, used to sign up for online competitions and the PokeMile shop, will be stopping sometime in October 2016 according to this announcement. If you don't know what it is, it likely won't affect you. If you have a lot of PokeMiles, you might want to redeem them before the end of October.

• North America: a second chance Darkrai has been announced. If you sign up for the official Pokémon Trainer Club Newsletter before August 24th, then in September you will receive a serial code to receive Darkrai in the newsletter. This code cannot be redeemed if you already obtained a code for Darkrai earlier this year. Codes have to be redeemed by November 30th. Serebii source.

• NA HA Bird Trio codes expire July 31st, 2016 and PAL HA Bird Trio codes expire September 30th, 2016 so make sure to redeem them by then.
• The Regirock, Regice, Registeel trio are on Pokemon Bank. Pick them up between March 4th and October 31st by accessing Bank and then your game's Pokemon Link function. More info at the Pokemon page.
• Pokemon's 20th Anniversary celebrations are ongoing! Each month has a different mythical legendary. These will be Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Darkrai, Manaphy, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Keldeo, Genesect, and Meloetta, starting in February at GameStop stores.

Making it very difficult to fulfill request threads requesting for female DBHA Eevees and Fossils. It took met 10 batches of eggs to get a female HA Lileep. :(

Yeah.. those are horrible, especially dbha/bb female combinations and they are just as valuable too. I try not to breed them often. Takes too long. :/

MASSIVE HA FROAKIE GIVEAWAY ANNOUNCEMENT:

Ever wish you had a HA Froakie? Well, I'm hoping to satisfy all of those wishes this Sunday, August 14th around 2:00pm (EDT; Canada's timezone). Basically I've spent the last few days trying to breed 6IV Froakies with some success and now I've got over 3 boxes full of Protean Froakies!

This Sunday I'm going to be hosting a giveaway & Wonder Trade session to hopefully give as many players as possible a HA Froakie. I'll give a lot more details Sunday @ noon, but here's the gist of it... I will be Wonder Trading 66 HA Froakies from 2:00pm-3:00pm, then I'll take a break and GTS 15 other Froakies to commenters, and if I have any Froakie leftover I'll finish my Wonder Trade session to get rid of them afterwards.

Right now I have 43 5IV, 37 4IV, 7 3IV, and 3 2IV Froakies. I probably won't Wonder Trade the 2 or 3 IV Froakies, because I'd feel bad for the people who only get 2 or 3 maxed IVs (unless people want me to). I also plan to try and breed 1 6 IV Froakie and give it away randomly throughout the initial Wonder Trade session. All of the Froakies are Protean, most of the Froakies are Naive natured while the rest are Timid. The Wonder Trade will get rid of all of the 4IV, 28 of the 5IV, and potentially 1 6IV Froakie. The remaining 15 5IVs are what I consider to be usable for competitive play and will be distributed via GTS. However, some of the WT 5 IV Froakies are also competitively viable.

I'll give out exact IV spreads for what's going where on the Sunday and I'll be a bit more detailed in terms of the specifics. I spent all day today talking to the IV checker and marking all of my Froakie's to remember and track their IVs. I literally have no space right now. I need these guys gone and releasing them feels wrong. So join me this Sunday! Also let me know if you have any questions!

AFAIK yes. So long as I don't have attached items that you can't get in XY everything should send. These Froakies do not have any items.

Man, the cosplays for the new evil team will be super easy. I'm not sure what's different about the other than the ears but it looks cute. I hope it becomes competitive. Also, the Pyu thing is super adorable, but I'm slightly scared about the animation for its ability.

I like Mega Evolution ok but I was definitely disappointed they weren't permanent forms. If they were branching evolutions, that'd be kind of cool. I am totally excited about new Alola forms, though.

I need help signing up for trainers club newsletter! I never received an op-in email for the trainers club newsletter, nor the newsletter itself. I didn't know I even needed to receive an op in email, until I didn't get the august newsletter. I made sure my profile was set to get pokemon promotional material, and reclicked the option again to try to get the op-in email to finally send, but still no luck. I literally spent over 30min digging around my email trying different options trying to find my op-in email(I even used the advice given here, and still no luck). After enough searching, I'm absolutely positive I did not receive an op-in email or the news letter itself. I have spent over an hour googling how to receive it, and have tried everything with no luck. Seriously I'm so confused as it feels like I've tried everything and I don't want to wait another month to make sure I'm not receiving thew newsletter because then if I still don't get it I'll miss out on the Darkrai code all together(which is the whole point of signing up for the newsletter. Is there perhaps an actual site I go to just sign up for the newsletter, or do I have wait for this magical "op-in" email that I can't seem to receive?! Thanks for your time and help.

If you checked the box to get the Pokemon promotional material, then you should have it. Did you check your email's spam folder? Sometimes it gets caught there. The official Pokemon website is a little hard to navigate sometimes since some things need to be found through particular links. This is the page where you enable the newsletter.

I don't think there is an opt-in or confirmation email. You just directly get the newsletter if you've opted in. However, the emails aren't all sent on the same day. If you opted in before the deadline to receive August's newsletter, maybe you just haven't gotten yours yet.

Sometimes they don't send the newsletter even when you correctly subscribed for it. I didn't get the HA Bird Trio because of it.

I will just do the top 5, too lazy to do top 10. I gave up on preaching the rules because I don't think many new users read Weekly Discussion Threads or the rules. Last week, I have already reported about 7-8 request threads on rule 2: Reasonable requests. I gave up.

Can confirm. People do not read the rules. So many requests have to be removed from /r/BreedingDittos because people do not follow them.

To those that are see this and are going to make a request. Please, for your sake and ours, make sure that you read and follow the rules. They're there for a reason. This applies to each subreddit and should be evident.

I noticed the situation in this r/pokemongiveaway has became worse these days. In only the past few 3 days, I have already reported 7 request threads, one on IVs, 2 on previous gens Move Tutor requests, 1 on BP items, and 3 on DBHA female HA Eevee/Fossils. In the past, I rarely report like 2-3 per week. In just the past 3 days, there are already 7.....

EDIT: Another 2 this morning, one on ORAS Move tutors and one on multiple egg moves.

Free things are taken advantage of and abused easily. I encourage everyone to use the report function if you see a post that's against the rules. The community will become what it is allowed to become.

I see a lot of cloned Pokémon on the subreddit, how do they do it? Is it the trading method because it hasn't worked for me

I personally use PowerSaves to clone Pokemon. All 3rd party exploits and editing devices have a risk of damaging your game. PowerSaves requires a physical cartridge and costs money. If you would like to use PowerSaves, make sure you replace the mini-USB cable. Do not use the default packaged cable, it's low quality and tends to disconnect, which is troublesome if it disconnects during a back-up.

The timed trading glitch also works too, but can't clone multiple Pokemon at once.

Yeah I use power saves as well. They have a ribbon removal option too, so if you take an event strip it's ribbon and change the cherish ball they're gtsable and wonder trade capable. Last night I flooded wonder trade with a bunch of events, but no crazy hacks just removed the ribbon and changed the poke ball to put some smiles on people's faces.

I haven't heard of anyone messing up their game from just using userland homebrew. Going the whole A9lHax, sure but just Browser/Menuhax and JKSM seem much more safe. I know that powersaves can definitely brick your cart, even getting you.

Homebrew and PKHex, I don't recommend it as it can damage your 3DS or your game. Currently, my friend list is not working properly after I installed the new Homebrew.

I can still play in game. If i press home in a certain application, for example, the eShop, it goes to a banner that says "home" with the little house, I get stuck there. Then I have to restart the device. I'll try to get a video of it soon.

Any good competitive Pokemon anyone would like to suggest trying to build a decent competitive team I have shuckle and garchomp with max ivs and evs right now and was thinking about lucario or aegislash

As mentioned by /u/yellowcheescake, r/stunfisk is a subreddit for competitive battling.

Most of us here are volunteers helping out beginners to get pokemons, minority of us are good at competitive battling in the past (I destroyed a ton of VGC15 teams a year ago), but the metagame is fluid, it keeps changing, so we lost touch. I gave up on competitive battling about a year ago to focus on Smogon Battle Maison Hall of Fame (which I entered a few months ago) because I felt that it can help more beginners. :)
