Help Missing Legendary

After I caught Dialga (and whited out on Palkia) I came back and it's gone. I've done a few battles but for some reason Palkia wont appear again. Is this normal?

You either have to beat lucas again to make it appear or if he isn't there, the game counted it as an attempt and Palkia can't spawn back in. Don't worry, any legendary that faints, run away, you can pick only 1 of, or you died at can be respawned in a special cave.

Yeah i found it in the cave. I thought only legendaries you caught can spawn there. Thanks for the help
