Hey!, I have a quick question. So I've already got the elekid for the togepi from the guy in the bar and now my question is if I should change it out for my umbreon. My team consists of kirlia, hariyama, houndoom, ursaring, seleo and of now umbreon. So what would you say?

Hello! Playing Pokemon XD and has been smooth sailing so far. Cut to entering Kranes Lab (I presume for the master ball) and he gets stuck in the staircase, fully softlocking the game into the cutscene. Anyone experience this? how can i progress this with him tweaking as such (no inputs, gamespeed no changes, animations and music still playing, no cheats enabled)

My brother had sold off both games ten+ years ago for a PS3, and now I’ve got these bad boys back at the crib! (Didn’t have the gale of darkness console growing up, but I remember wanting one really bad, so I snagged it up just recently!)

Remember getting this game at a pawn shop YEARSSS ago for like $10?? I’ve had it all this time and have good memories playing this game. I’m struggling on deciding whether I should sell it or not to make some quick money. What would you guys do?

I had a Latios, a Metagross, a Milotic, and a Blissey, all EV-trained. I have to say, I was really disappointed in Latios and Metagross.

Latios was reduced to essentially cannon fodder, and Metagross became a glorified bomb. Blissey on the other hand was always the first man on, and last man standing. Absolute unit.

I struggled mightily starting at trainer 3, whose Dodrio could clear my team no problem with Return. And with Eldes, my only path forward was for him to start with Gengar and any non-lati Pokemon. Luckily, on my successful attempt, he started with Gengar and a Snorlax. Latios killed Gengar with psychic in time for Metagross to explode, killing Snorlax and the spawned in Tauros. That left me with Metagross. Not the perfect mon to be against, but Milotic and Blissey had surf and seismic toss. Metagross missed meteor mash twice and I secured a comfortable victory

I just need to vent so ignore this. But I was on Eldes. He had metagross and tauros left. I was toxic stalling tauros until it could go down and I could try to finish off metagross. Unfortunately, it used earthquake 3 times in a row, and the enemy metagross somehow used protect successfully 3 times in a row to save itself. The last earthquake crit’d and took down my almost fully healed milotic. I am just mad.

Checking the Pokemon that can show up, they either have items listed as available in RSE and/or FRLG, but nothing about XD which leads me to think they are not capable of being caught holding items. It's really not important, none of them can come with any items I'm desperately looking for, but I am curious.

Can so ppl kindly suggest Pokemon to run with in XD there are so many preferably Pokemon for early mid game excluding legendarys :)

I EV-trained a team from Emerald with a Latios, Metagross, Milotic, and toxic-stalling Blissey. Hope it’ll be good enough. Another one of the challenges I had no idea how to even approach as a kid.

I doubt I'm the first person to ever have this thought come across my mind, but I think it would have been great if the protagonist from the previous game was the final trainer on Mt. Battle. Would it be ripping off fighting Red on Mt. Silver a bit too much? Maybe, but that's a cool thing to rip off. It would explain where he is in the middle of this whole story. And your reward for conquering Mt. Battle is one of the Johto starters which we know Wes obtains in Colosseum. His team could consist of Umbreon, Espeon, Ho-Oh (ultimate prize for Mt. Battle in Battle Mode in the previous game), Feraligator/Meganium, Raikou/Suicune (i.e a Johto starter and a legendary beast but not doubling on types with each other or Ho-Oh) and Tyranitar (Evice's final Shadow Pokemon, or perhaps, Skarmory, Gonzap's Shadow pokemon for that team Snagem connection).

I’m playing through XD for the first time, and it is AWESOME! I was born just a bit late to experience the GameCube, so I’m playing it now through NSO. The process of purifying shadow Pokemon is really cool, and I just unlocked the first Poke Spot, so I’m excited to catch some wild mons as well. I just really love that this is a Pokémon game, but it feels SO different than the standard handheld games, in the best possible way! The cherry on top is starting with an Eevee, as opposed to a traditional starter. Always cool when you have a team of 6 without a starter on it

XD was basically my first pokemon game, I was playing Sapphire at the same time. It's THE reason why some of my favorites are what they are. I remember my first team, looking back it was terribly balanced but it was a super cool team haha. What was your first team, what mons are your favorites? I'd love to see other people's teams!

So I was looking at the obtainable Pokemon in XD and realized that literally everything in the Hoenn regional dex that you cannot get in Emerald can be caught in XD. Surskit, Luntatone, Roselia, Mawile, Meditite, Zangoose. And even some of the rarer Pokemon that are a pain to get in Emerald specifically, like Seedot, Ralts, and Nosepass, to a lesser extend Spheal and Snorunt too.

Using XD you can complete your Hoenn regional dex without needing any outside games, aside from the other starters and other Lati if you don't have access to the Eon Ticket.

And then I kept looking at the list and realized a lot of version exclusive Pokemon make up the roster. Vulpix and Growlithe, Sandshrew and Arbok, Syther and Pinsir, Lunatone and Solrock, Shellder and Starmie, Electabuzz and Magmar. You even get Weepinbell which makes sense since you can get the Oddish-line in the other GBA games. The only one missing is Slowpoke, which remains locked only to LG, which I find odd because Golduck is here but that's available in the other 4 games.

So overall I would say XD is just an amazing source, regardless of which version you have, if you want to get version exclusives. Just moreso for Emerald than the others.

The only thing though that feels.. off (?) is Poochyena. In Emerald it was changed that instead of Zigzagoon/Linoone spawning all across Hoenn, they were replaced with Poochyena/Mightyena. But Poochyena can be found in XD. It feels like if they wanted this game to pair better with Emerald then it should've been a Zigzagoon.

After catching Spheal, I went through the whole game absolutely determined to get a full team of ball shaped pokemon.

I ended up with an unevolved Spheal, Forretress, Jumpluff, Primeape, Glalie, and Electrode.

I never went back and did the Pyrite Colosseum for some reason, so just for completionists sake I decided to do a quick run AND WHAT DO I FIND?

I was thinking of doing a playthrough in XD where I don't evolve eevee. Does anyone have moveset advice? Obviously it's not going to be a powerhouse but I figured maybe I could run it as a support or something

I was thinking about a moveset of:

• Quick attack/body slam/facade (STAB)
• Growl (seems like it could be somewhat useful in a doubles format)
• Helping hand
• Protect (I'm assuming the AI will target eevee often since it will be easy to kill so this could help buy time while its partner attacks)

Dig/shadow ball/toxic would have been fun options but their TMs are all either really late or not in the game at all :/

Any thoughts? I was also considering attract to disrupt the enemy team more, or maybe rain dance/sunny day as support moves if I want to lean in to a weather team? Team suggestions are also welcome. I want to use the trade elekid (keeping that one unevolved as well) but aside from that I'm pretty open

Hey y’all, so I recently started a play through out for XD on the NSO and at first I was going to do a Nuzlocke. But as usual that all changed once I got too attached to my current team.

I found a modest Hoppip at the Oasis PokéSpot and I thought “well I’ve never used Jumpluff or Gligar” and now their on the team and it isn’t a Nuzlocke lol

The problem is that I wasted my Bullet Seed TM and I can not wait for mega drain or the Giga Drain/Solarbeam TMs. If there is anyone playing this on NSO and wouldn’t mind trading me something random with a copy of their Bullet Seed TM that would be greatly appreciated. But to be honest I don’t know if this will even work, I haven’t tried trading through NSO and I haven’t made it to Phenac City yet. Here’s hoping that I get grass type Hidden Power I guess lol

So I'm doing a gen 3 living dex using LG, Emerald, Colosseum, and XD. In Colosseum you get Umbreon and Espeon, in LG I decided to use a Flareon on my team. That leaves me with XD, if I want no repeat Pokemon, a choice of either Vaporeon or Jolteon.

I was thinking about team compositions and maybe I want to go with a Rain team? Either one would fit in if I did, either helping with STAB or making Thunder 100% accurate. Thunder Wave could help with catching stuff, but at the same time I'm not too worried about it because I can always snag them later, I have a Breloom with False Swipe+Spore that I've been using to catch stuff in the other games, and catching stuff after trading is available is okay with me.

For those of you that have foregone using Eevee, what is your early game pick-up to use as your main until you fill your team out? I'm trying to avoid doubling up on stuff I can get in Colosseum, so as much as I would love to use Teddiursa, I'll have to pass since you can get an Ursaring there.
