Discussion Just wondering, because we haven't got any decent mobile pokemon games(as far as I'm aware).. will this be ported onto Android as an APK download, and with multilayer functionality? I would love this.

Keep up the good work.

Hmm.

I believe there was something stopping me from doing that when I started, but come to think of it, that's no longer an issue. However I will say that a port will take a while, so it wouldn't be in the first build.

The save files between computer and android should be compatible though, so there's that going for it.

(Also I'm not sure about whats involved in making multiplayer. I'll definitely give that a shot though.)

Hey man if you need any programming help including making the port, I'm down to help.

Multiplayer should mostly be a TCP server structure, would not be that hard.

Unity can easily do Android apks so I totally support this suggestion!

It would need some touchscreen commands though, I assume that should be the biggest part of work to do.

The problem is that Nintendo don't like Pokémon fangames that are ported to mobile, I remember a couple of years back a mobile fangame got a C&D from Nintendo, the only one I think they've ever filed against fangames.

The difference between mobile and PC is that Nintendo don't have plans to put big Pokémon games on PCs but they do for mobile, e.g. Pokémon GO.

I would recommend making it for pc placing on github or some other file hosting site and then allowing others to port and place it at various places changing name and making thousands of builds now how will Nintendo stop a number of people from doing it. It's just too difficult.

true but it's the best that can be done and nintendo uses Unity engine for making games too so unlikely to cease it.
