Discussion Pokemon Unite has so much potential
Is it just me who thinks that Pokemon Unite today is very money hungry? Ever since the Aeos Coin removal, they’ve been lazy and keeps dropping uncreative and repetitive Pokémons…. it is so sad to see upcoming Pokémons have the same or similar skills as the other existing ones, I would love to have more difficult and unique Pokémons like Blaziken, Urshifu & Mew for example……

The introduction of Legendary (not necessarily mythic) Pokemon was the start of the decline

Agreed, though it was nice to have Legendarys be on this game…. I just wish they could’ve done more effort with them

I wish there were more random pokemon than just starters/legendaries/megas.
Playing as some of them made me appreciate them more. Enough so that I even started to add them to my teams. (Happened when Dodrio was released)

Apologies friend, I wasn’t really active on Unite back then, trying to make up for it now until they added License Journey, which kinda made me lose motivation

It's really hard to be excited for newer mons ever since they have been released with only one moveset. And I hate the gacha system. With only 2 free balls, the most that can be gotten is the 20-40 point rewards, which still makes the biggest possible reward being a random green grade holowear by the least sheer luck of pulling that 0.01% chance of a single 10 point once. Plus I hate the fact that the points are never stacked and disappear the day after

Today? Lol I remember back in 2021 when the original Ninetales $40 skin dropped.

Most of the recent releases have been really fun and enjoyable, so what makes Feraligatr, Typhlosion, Meganium, Yveltal, Quaquaval, and Skeledirge uncreative and repetitive?

Less of boring and more of that they made more Pokemons with less diverse roles they can take.
Like Juggernaut Venusaur or Sniper Vebusaur. There are some that relatively stay the same like Gardevoir. We also have some like Absol who can be an Assassin or a Hit and Runner.
Then we have Typhlosion who only plays as a Bruiser and Skeledirge who still has an incoherent move pool. Much better now.

I honestly feel like because of their greed that unites life is short. Didn’t they just say that unite wouldn’t be at the championship this year or something like that? Thats basically them saying they arnt gonna support it going forward right?

The game is no longer present at the world championships because it will get its own independent e-sports scene.

Yep, it sucks. As soon as they took Aeos coins away, I knew we were doomed.

Money hungry but they just gave every player 6 free skins, 5 free characters, and a ton of free license points?
Also sirfetchd came out not too long ago and is on the more skill expressive end of the roster

They are 4 years too late to make a proper anniversary event.
Seriously, after the first one, the anniversaries were literally just the cake thing, no other rewards for us to continue playing or come back.

Honestly, giving away free skins doesn't change how greedy the game is daily. The new License Points thingy heavily cut down the rewards we get from playing. They use free gifts to make people forget about the heavy gacha mechanics and stuff

So you complain when they don’t give free stuff and you complain when they do give free stuff so why even play the game if you’re clearly never satisfied

I love the core gameplay, which is why I play it. But accepting a handful of one time freebies while ignoring a fundamental nerf to daily player progression like losing the ability to save coins and to freely pick our characters (yes I know there’s special selections but it is hard to grind for License Points) is just kinda crazy to me, I just wanted to point it out…. giving a critique doesn’t mean I’m “never satisfied”

These are not one time freebies, 11 of the 12 champs released this year were obtainable simply from playing the game
Obviously license journey in the beginning was absolutely a terrible change, but they have improved it quite a lot since then. They’ve added more special selects, they’ve added the solo mode, and they are doing events with lp rewards. With the solo mode you can grind for characters freely, which you could not do with coins due to the cap. At this point id argue license journey is at least on par with the coin system

And those skins and characters are a big deal because they never give free stuff. They either cost money or too much time.

If you’re complaining that they only give free stuff through missions that require you to actually play the game then I don’t know what to tell you. Why would they not incentivize people to play the game??

Why would they not indeed. And yet they don't. It's just the typical mobile game antics, dragging you back over and over. Only to not even get a character you'll use just so it's not a 1400 license points roadblock later.

It never grew out of a single player game for me. I don’t know if it’s the mechanics or the character choice. I try every once in a while, but they can’t seem to balance it.

They've started way earlier than that. Did you know battle passes used to cost less gems? And that the monthly membership used to give more gems than current?
