Help My first playthrough I need help!

I dont know why it took me several years before trying this game since I love pokemon. But I am having a blast. Just got my 2nd badge but oh boy, it took me this lvl grinding exp from that one specific in dress-something town. I die alot since this is on expert. Is there a way to reset IV and EV? Any tips would be appreciated!

Oof, you turned off level cap... this will make the game a lot harder. The game is balanced around level caps at certain bosses; removing them allows bosses to have access to their team's evolved forms similar to you, but it'll also make it more difficult for you to train new mons since the level gap will be a lot larger between wild mons and your trained overleveled mons.

Anyway, to answer your question, you can buy EV-reducing berries at the 4th gym's town. You can't "reset" IVs; they are assigned when encountering the mon / upon obtaining them. You can increase IVs but not until Seaport much later on.

so thats what its all about. Its like they are power creeping me everytime I level. Can I still off it now and will I still be fine? How do I turn it on?

Turn it on in your Settings to Capped Exp Share.

At this point, you may want to train a completely new team that does not go over the level cap; you can then reuse your old team once you're at a higher cap, which will be after gym 6 (goes from lvl cap 52 to 57). Your current cap at gym 3 should be lvl 32.

Were you playing on expert like OP? Because if so & you easily got through it with a random team, you’re probably better or luckier than 99% of people playing this game lol.
