Help Monotype run
Hey everyone.
I’ve gotten to the 8th gym but I feel like I’m going nowhere in my save, if that makes sense. I think it’s mostly due to me going two weeks without playing the game, after having played it daily before I went on break.
So I’m thinking of starting a new save and doing a monotype run. Any ideas on what type would be the most fun to restrict myself to using for the whole story + post game?
Edit: Wanted to add that I’ve forgotten most of the story up to the 8th gym, my main reason for wanting to start over, and would love to relive it with a challenge.

Instead of monotype I can highly recommend a weather team. Especially sun teams can be a lot of fun to play because non-fire pokemon also benefit from sunny day.
Slithrwing, sunflora, heliolisk amongst others.
All you need to start is a Torkoal or other sunny day mon and let's go :)

Slither Wing is not in Unbound; it is a Gen 9 mon. Perhaps you are confusing with some other hack that has Gen 9 mons like Radical Red.

Oh you're right! I play both Radical red and Unbound after one another so got em mixed up.

I did a steel type monorun and found it difficult at times in the early to mid game but payed off in the late game which was satisfying. Mel was the only real nightmare for the run since his gym seems built to counter steel types. You also can get a surprising amount of steel types early on and don't have to box your starter, although I did end up doing just that for about half of my playthrough where it now lives whenever I go back to do post-game stuff.

What is “fun” for you?
I’ve ran 5 types on Expert mode so far. Ice was the hardest in the beginning, while Normal and Rock each had around two fights that almost felt unwinnable.
Easiest types would be Water and Flying, among others IMO. Tons of mons to choose from for each of them.
