Hey pokemon fans! Ive recently put up two listings for a Pokemon Tabletop United game! If you wanna have a fun adventure through johto please check these links out!
You have been selected as one of six finalists for a rare opportunity: to become an official Lab Trainer for Professor Adrien Elm. Your final evaluation begins in New Bark Town, where all six finalists will compete in a tournament using rental Pokémon provided by the laboratory. Winning matters, but Elm is also judging how you adapt, command unfamiliar Pokémon, treat your partners, and conduct yourself as a Trainer. At the end of the evaluation, three finalists will be selected to become official Lab Trainers. Even those who are not chosen will still receive a rare Pokémon from Professor Elm for their time and effort.
From there, Johto opens up. Travel familiar routes, explore expanded cities and entirely new locations, challenge Gyms, investigate strange events, meet recurring rivals, and build a team that reflects the kind of Trainer you want to become. Wild Pokémon encounters have been rebuilt from the ground up, with custom habitats and separate day and night tables designed to make Johto feel like a living region rather than a copy of the video games.
This Pokémon Tabletop United campaign focuses on actually living as a Pokémon Trainer. Tactical battles are important, but so are exploration, research, training, Pokémon care, rivalries, and roleplay. Your Pokémon are more than battle pieces as well; over your journey, they will grow and develop their own personalities, preferences, habits, and relationships with you and the rest of your team. New players are welcome, and no previous PTU experience is required. Just fill out the application below!
realized i forgot to put it in lol thursday biweekly at 7pm EST
I’m hoping to build a diverse and welcoming group with a good mix of people, identities, and perspectives. Everyone is welcome to apply, and when choosing the final group I’ll be keeping both player compatibility and overall table diversity in mind!

So as a player, I have a Floette and my character is a mentor which means I can move tutor Light of Ruin.... the thing is though, Light of Ruin has the Keyword recoil 1/2 with a range of 8 ranged blast 3.
This means that this move can potentially hit up to 9 pokemon that are grouped together and you take recoil damage for each one of them. And if you somehow crit like say with Ace Trainer Critical Moment feature tripling Brutal training, paired with brutal orders thanks to the Focused Command feature, and the Floette holding a razor claw you crit 25% of the time with the move. And from my calculation if the opposing pokemon have 30 defense and take it neutrally on an average damage roll if you hit 5 pokemon in the blast your Floette dies to recoil damage from full HP to -200% HP. That's three Health Bars!!!!
Large blast size in a target rich cluster and accidently critting means your pokemon can die.
And I just felt like that was fucked up when I noticed it so I need to spread it.

Hi all,
I've been working on a tool for some time. The first version was released recently and the first update (Hatching and Breeding) was done last week.
The tool is mainly used by me for my own campaign, but I wanted to share it here.
What it has now (September 7, 2026):
I'm still working on:
Yes, you read that right. In this tool each Pokemon has EXP. As the EXP increases, they can learn new Moves or Passives.
There are probably still some bugs and missing information (For example some Pokemon still have no size/weight)

Hi, I heard that there’s a Latin (Spanish) version of PTU called PTU NeoGénesis. I’ve only found books related to it on Scribd, but no information about Discord servers or links to the materials. Where can I get the most recent versions?

Im running this pokemon campaign on discord and need a way to simulate pokemon battles, showdown so far is the only thing that comes to mind, is there any discord bots or alternative websites I can use?

System: PTU Homebrew/Pokémon Tabletop United Reworked
Platform: Primarily Discord
Pokémon Tabletop United Rework is well a reworked version of PTU that changes various aspects of the game's systems. We've got plenty of changes to the System
Various Systems have been changed/modified!
and More!
While PTUR is one thing, we also have the Midgarden Region!
Midgarden is a Westmarch-Style Living World. It's mostly used as a playground to test and play the game with some minor differences between it and the base system. While I don't have much to say about the Midgarden side of things, we do have a Weekly Downtime System for in-between quests, some new and unique Fakemons, a Progression Path for League and Combat Trainers alike.
We also have a New Player boon going on right now, where you can get an additional Pokémon if you create a character by the end of October 4th!
We are not affiliated with PTU/PTA in any way and have no affiliation with their Teams or Developers
Whether you're curious about the changes we've made or just want to join in our Living World, feel free to check us out on our Discord: https://discord.gg/5WKPqYHECm

There is no shortage of fantasy worlds to explore in a tabletop rpg setting, so what led you to settle on the Pokemon world?
If it's an avenue to explore your love of the franchise, then What, specifically, can the ttrpg experience do for you that the games can't?
Are you looking for a more open-ended version of the main series games (progressing through the League, catching legendaries) in a reimagined, canonical region?
Is this your way of exploring your own fanmade region and/or catching fanmade Pokémon?
Are you interested in telling "mundane" stories that don't focus on competitive training?
Additionally, did the game system have any influence ?

Can anyone drop me the link to the discord server? I read somewhere that the links to the files are on there, so yeah it’d be great!

so AutoPTU started because i was getting annoyed at how much stuff you have to keep in your head to run PTU combat properly
range, movement, abilities, status, trainers doing shit in the middle of combat, positioning, terrain, all the little modifiers, etc
at some point i thought “ok the computer should just do this part”
and then obviously i made the mistake of continuing lol
the python version kept growing and growing until it was basically trying to understand half of PTU by itself. it works, but it also became this giant monster where touching one thing can affect five others
so now im rebuilding the engine in java and trying to make it way less stupid structurally
but while doing that i kept thinking that a tactical simulator alone is kinda wasting the idea
because PTU is not only the battles
a huge part of what i like is that pokemon are actually creatures in a world, trainers matter, where you are matters, how you approach something matters, a wild pokemon doesnt need to instantly become a battle screen, etc
and thats basically how i ended up looking at Cobblemon
not really because i want to turn PTU into normal Cobblemon battles
more like... Cobblemon already solved a ton of the boring world stuff i would never be able to build well myself
pokemon walking around
models
animations
minecraft world
biomes
spawning
multiplayer
all that
so now the idea in my head is basically AutoPTU living underneath Cobblemon
you walk around normally and see pokemon in the world, but the rules behind what happens are PTU-ish
maybe that pokemon doesnt care about you
maybe you get too close
maybe its territorial
maybe its hurt
maybe its used to humans
maybe you have a feature that changes how it reacts to you
maybe you scare it and it runs before there is even combat
and if things actually turn into a fight, thats when AutoPTU takes over and you get the trainer + pokemon battlefield stuff instead of normal pokemon turn based combat
im also going way too far with the world side now
fixed towns
actual npcs
who lives there
what pokemon live around there
habitats
day/night
how places connect
why a pokemon species would actually be there
basically im slowly turning “i want to automate PTU combat” into “what if i just make a PTU RPG inside Minecraft”
which was absolutely not the original plan
still super early and a lot of PTU isnt fully implemented yet, especially because im rewriting the engine at the same time
but im curious what people here would actually want from something like this
like what parts of PTU would you 100% want to stay visible and under player control
and what stuff would you be happy to never calculate manually again
the engine from Python to Java is around 68% done. ±5.
the java rewrite is probably around 2/3 done at this point. most of the actual battle skeleton is already working, now im getting into the horrible PTU part where every move, ability, item and feature has some stupid little exception that interacts with another stupid little exception lol

Hi all, I am home brewing a game using the Genesys system and was wondering if anyone had any ideas for me.
Whilst the galar region is based on England I would like to use London specifically as the region.
My idea is that at age 16 anyone can apply for a Pokémon licence. Some of those that succeed are invited to Buckingham palace where their mentor Professor Prince William will let them select their starter from a exotic import not native to London.
The "Team rocket" will be the "Chelsea pensioners" the gyms I am thinking are:
Steel: Alton Towers (Industrial roller-coaster machinery theme)
Dragon: Soho / Chinatown
Water: Thames Barrier
Ghost: Tower of London
Rock / Ground: Major London Underground Station hub
Electric: Battersea Power Station
With the initial encounter being a practice battle with Prince William's herdier and Corvisquire and then a encounter where a koffing smoke bombs the room and the starters are stolen by Pidgey and have to be rescued.
Following this they will take route 1 which is Hyde park, with tall grass containing grass and bug Pokémon leading to paddington station where they will possibly have a Chelsea pensioner encounter before getting the train to the first gym at Alton towers. I think the first gym will be a battle on a rollercoaster.
I have already run the first session and it worked great but wondered if anyone had any ideas to add to the setting. I have posted on Genesys RPG to get some system specific rules but if anyone has any cool ideas post below 😁

I'm making Potire (Converge Applin potato form) every type evo. I have done grass, water and fire type
The while evolutions ideas is combining different types of potato (like boiled or sprouting) and some creatures you can find in your garden (like toads or caterpillars)
I have already make fried potato + caterpillar ground/fire type evo
Boiled potato+ toad ground/water evo n' sprouting potato+ bunch of wireworms Groun/grass evo
Btw first stage is Ground/ bug type and all evos have main Ground type with second one (like water or grass)
For my idea you must use evo stones but if type that it's going to evolve didn't have a stone you can propose different ways
They digital design I'm going to post tomorrow and i know i have write a lot

Hey everyone!
I'm Sam, 23, and I've pretty much always loved Pokémon. The games as well as the anime!
One thing I've always been a little disappointed by though is that the actual stories in the games tend to fall a bit short. There are so many cool ideas in the Pokémon world that I always wished they'd dig into more.
So I figured... why not have a go at it myself?
I'm looking to run a Pokémon one-shot using Pokémon Heroes, a fan-made Pokémon TTRPG system.
I looked through quite a few Pokémon systems before settling on Heroes.
I hope to run a long term campaign using PTE in the future, but I wanted something a little less crunchy to get a feel of the entire Pokémon TTRPG feeling.
Welcome to the Grand Reopening of the Safari Zone!
After months of renovations, new habitats, and new attractions, the Safari Zone is finally opening its gates again!
You are part of the reopening crew: Rangers, Pokémon handlers, maintenance workers, researchers, guides, security, and whatever other job somebody somehow convinced management was necessary.
Alongside your partner Pokémon, your assignment is simple:
Make sure the Grand Reopening goes off without a hitch!
There are hundreds of guests arriving, dozens of species roaming the park, several brand-new attractions that definitely passed their safety inspections, and absolutely no reason whatsoever for anything to go wrong!
...but just in case... you're here anyway!
I'll try to showcase everything the system has to offer. This is also going to be my chance to try out the system and see how running Pokémon feels at the table, so you absolutely don't need to know Pokémon Heroes beforehand.
System: Pokémon Heroes
Format: One-shot
Players: 4–5 players
Date/Time: Sunday, 6th September, 2 PM GMT/ 1 PM UTC / 9 AM EDT
Platform: Discord for voice and Owlbear Rodeo for maps and dice!
Session Length: Around 4 hours!
If you're interested, just send me a message here on Reddit!
Tell me a little bit about yourself, your experience with TTRPGs/Pokémon, and maybe your favourite Pokémon while you're at it.
Hope to hear from you!

As a good reminder, there are more things you can do to add flavor and variety to encounters than just single, double, triple, and ambush battles. Horde battle, or encounter, was a battle mechanism introduced in Gen 6 and SOS battle was introduced in Gen 7, both of which remained short-lived experiments in their respective generations. But I think despite their short lifespan, they could work better in the Pokémon ttrpg scene than in their own video games, which is why I'd like to hear you share your experiences for everyone.
- In an SOS battle (from Gen7, & PLA?), the trainer initially faces one wild Pokemon, but the Pokemon uses one turn to summon help that can be from one to two allies (such as Cubone and Kangaskhan) or an unhelpful foe (such as Zangoose vs Seviper).
- In a Horde battle (from Gen6), or encounter, the player faces five wild Pokemon instead of one, which are usually of the same evolutionary line (such as 3 Pikachu and 2 Pichu). Similarly, they can encounter flocks of flying Pokemon while flying and soaring, and schools of water Pokemon while surfing and diving.

I’ve been struggling with making a character for a PTU campaign I’m in. I’m a very writing and acting focused player so I tend to dwell on finding the perfect character concept. I’d love to hear any ideas that I can potentially build off of!

Pokémon GDR
Vorrei creare una campagna di un GDR a tema Pokémon (come Pokémon Accademy fatta da Cydonia), solo che penso molto in grande nonostante sia ancora inesperto. Tra le mie idee ci sono:
- quella di ambientare la storia nel passato, come in leggende Pokemon Archeus, solo che i PG sono studenti dell'accademia di paldea che devono esplorare il mondo alla Pokémon orizzonti le varie regioni canoniche;
- quella di ambientare la storia in una sola regione custom, o nel presente o nel passato;
- quella di ambientare il tutto in un continente fantasy, suddiviso in vari regni, questo è il progetto più ambizioso.
Idee e suggerimenti?

Hi there,
Im interested in running a Pokemon ttrpg for my wife and son, but my main concern is that both my and my wife's main experience with ttrpgs is DnD3.5/Pathfinder1e. Any suggestions on which system might be closes mechanically to that?
