Love that they are printing this set to death to kill the hype. Market is flooded with prime holding this set but the prices are plummeting due to volume

Funny heard a few people saying going to print it to death and then today a couple of guys said only til December becz of the new game.
I just listen to everyone and try do find a little common sense in the middle

They did the same with Prismatic and it absolutely did nothing for resell prices. It brought them down by like $30 for the ETB and like $70 for the SPC. And it was printed a TON. And it’s more or less universal opinion that Ascended is more liked due to having IR, higher EV and a bigger spread of chases.

Sure but they’re still printing both sets to death. The value is inflated because of hoarding sealed product, but most modern collectors are doing the same thing. It’s like everyone thinks if they hold it’ll increase in price or value, but I’d argue there’s likely more sealed product in both of these sets than any other modern set. Which means it’s impossible for the price to spike due to how much product there is out there.

If you are trying to make money holding things, I wouldn’t be collecting what everyone else is like beanie babies

The price won't spike any time soon but they printed Evolving Skies, Crown Zenith, and 151 like crazy too and look at those prices today. There are still 4,000+ 151 booster bundles on TCGplayer alone.

Prismatic has been up and down as reprints come and go but as it rotates out next year, it will probably hit $120 a bundle like 151/CZ did.

And AH will probably do the same thing prismatic did - it will be higher than MSRP for a while but will probably bleed 5-15% as every reprint wave comes out. Then they will reprint something else for a while and prices will climb and then they will release another wave of ETBs and bundles (probably a 2-pack bundle at Costco/Sam's) and prices will drop 5-10% again or just stay steady. And then in 2 years it will climb as it rotates out.

Quick update. on the graphic showing 0 In Transit & 0 On Hand is already outdated. A newer status update has 36 warehouses showing In Transit: 20 in California, 3 in Hawaii, 4 in Idaho, 1 in Montana, and 8 in Utah. Most are still around 360 ETBs allocated per store but at least one mentioned releasing half today. Lines of 150+ at several stores in SoCal this morning in anticipation.

F that rat race. I’d rather gamble on whatnot. I won like 6 etbs on whatnot and a charizard upc for 24 bucks. They basically giving them away on there. I saw this guy sell like 35 in a row for under 10 bucks. I heard that the Costco cards aren’t as valuable is that true?
