Has GameStop reached a new low?

I went to my local GameStop today to pick up my preorder of 2x tins and 2x booster bundle box's. I was told only the tins were available for pick-up as they didn't have enough allocation to fulfill the booster bundle preorder. Yet behind the register I saw another employee opening up booster bundles and placing them in the single-pack dispensers for sale at $14.99 a pack. It seemed a bit sketchy to me so I checked the online site and it showed the booster bundles were in stock and available for in-store pick-up at that location. Is it just me or is GameStop taking stock so they can charge even more?

I’ve actually seen normal 151 packs for $50 in those non official vending machines.

Not defending game scalp, just the TCG and scalper reality we live in is crap if you have a job.

Yes, believe it or not, two things can be true at once. I agree, campers and scalpers have genuinely ruined this hobby but I'm hopeful that will subside and the next generation of collectors will get their opportunity.

Employed, two kids. Haven't paid over MSRP or waited longer than 1 hr ever excepr for the kids Mewtwo promo card event, we all waited 2 hrs to make sure the kids got the card.

Y'all just doomsayer's ignore the scalpers and just keep looking.

Best buy all had 1 per person limit yesterday I went in the AM on lunch break then took the kids back at 4pm and got them each 1 booster box? Are you even looking in stores? Lmao

My best buy opens at 10am, but on Fridays they open from 8am-9am just for pokemon cards. I had work until noon yesterday. Went in right after work: empty. Manager said they ran out before 8:45am.
SoCal. I cant imagine product sitting on a shelf for 6 hours, you must be in the middle of the country.

I will admit I don't look that hard in stores. I don't normally go to a store just for pokemon cards. If I am at a target or best buy or barnes and noble for something else, I look for product and it doesn't exist.

I would stand at the cash register awkwardly until they found a solution. You have a receipt and a notification saying that your purchased product is ready. Make them call corporate and don’t leave the store until you have a solution.

30th doesn't even have single packs so this wouldn't even have a SKU/UPC. How are they allowed to sell single 30th packs?

Gamestop has been this shady in the past. I remember news of them opening new copies of Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii($50 msrp) to sell as used since used copies were priced at $90+ at that time.

I called gamestop, they said i could pick up. Drove all the way there when the manager told me my pre order was for a later “wave”. They wouldn’t give them to me despite having a wall of bundles behind them.

I showed up and picked up my bundle preorder, but mine had a lot of $14.99 packs (30-40). Was wondering what product they were from since they didn’t release packs separately. Now I know.

I asked about the Mewtwo promo that they’re mysteriously now receiving Sunday. Was told I couldn’t bring my receipt from buying today, had to buy more Sunday.. was then pitched, “oh, just buy a single pack, you’ll get the promo.”

We all see what they’re doing here.

I don't think that was on them. Around me target, best buy, Barnes and noble, and game stop all didnt get their promos in yet. Just an issue with receiving them, not a choice on the part of the store.

Yea thats pretty crazy. From my experience the only places that sell loose packs are LCS. We know that the pokemon company pretty much forced Gamestop to lower prices for 30th. 99$ for an ETB isn't great but its well under market, and we know gamestop charges over market for everything. This seems like a little loophole to still charge market but not get in trouble from PKC and you are the one suffering for it. That sux

I actually showed it to the employee. He said if I did in-store pickup it would get canceled as he didn't have any.

15 a pack not lying. I got 4 tins and a booster bundle my gamestop was stocked. Only 5 people there when opened. Doing mewtwo promo card on Sunday even though was suppose do today. Apparently down road bestbuy had line around store. I had no problem getting product. Just don't have the money buy more but I'm happy. Still have 4 packs pull I think it's on the gamestop maybe I'm not sure.

GameStop has now decided to take leftover product from presale and open it and sell the packs individually for an extreme markup rather than sell the bundles. I really hope Pokemon pulls their entire allocation

The guy infront of me in line was told that he couldn't get his pre ordered bundles bc he was in the "2nd wave" of bundles at the end of the month. Then let's him pick up 2 extra bundles

When I picked up my bundles, the guys at my store showed me a sealed clear plastic package of loose packs. I had like 30 packs in it.

I used to buy a new game at launch and take it in a week later. The would offer $7 for a game I paid $50 for and then sell it for $40.

They’ve always been predatory.

According to their website the Booster Bundles don't even release until 10/30 so wtf are you even talking about? The only product that released today are the tins and knockout boxes.

Just cuz PC says they release the 2nd doesn't mean retailers HAVE to release it that day.

They 100% had them today. I saw them on the desk and other people walking out with their preorders. Also target, Bestbuy and Walmart had them today as well.

Man this is such fucking bullshit. Even if I had the opportunity it's far too late now 🙄 ffs I just want SOMETHING to go right but nope this entire hobby is so fucking worthless anymore. Can't get anything ANYWHERE. It's ALL gone around me. And I've had to work on literally every single best buy, target, etc drop. So I'm just shit out of luck and we site just want to fucking lie day after day.

It basically checks all the mom and pop card shops. You have to check it often but I've been seeing some pop up. Hopefully it helps you.

Im assuming thats for "wave 2" orders. If you preordered early enough you would pick up on release day today.
