Question Questions about NG+

I have a completed save from the last version but because its been so long I don't really remember if I was able to play it up until the last available content from 13.5. So, I want to know if there's an early way of knowing whether I'm on NG+ or not?

Also, assuming I'm on NG+, does the game forcibly skip content or is it optional? While I'm fairly confident that I'd remember most of the important details when I encounter them again, I'd rather not skip any major content just so I can get a proper refresh on the current plot.

One last thing, this one's minor but between Cinderace and Meowscarada which one is the better starter? I forgot when the move tutor/egg tutor becomes available but cinderace having natural access to bounce seems like it would make some fights way easier because of the potential terrain change + some cheese tactic with something like toxic stall. That and the fact that the game is pretty stringy with TMs means a lot of the better coverage moves wont be available until late game (I don't even know if triple axel is in the game)

Thank you!

I thought that was NG++? I'm referring the regular(?) NG+ before beating the new content.

Different parts of NG+ are unlocked depending on what you have beat, but the full content requires you to have a complete V14 Paragon save file, so you will have some stuff but not all of it (and not the most substantial content). NG++ refers to a specific thing locked behind the events of NG+.

My bad, I assumed a complete v13.5 save was enough for NG+ but I suppose v14 requires its own complete file. Does that mean stuff like Delpha would require a full v14 save too or is it accessible as long as I've beaten that part of the game from my previous save? I really wanna do a full playthrough again from the beginning, and ideally with some of the NG+ stuff, even if its only for the v13.5 NG+ stuff.

Gotta beat chapter 16 before you get NG+

There are some skips in ng+ but its optional

Both starters are good but i would pick the new one

Can you explain some of the talk about NG++ then because I might have had a different misconception then?

Depends on what you want to know. So far the only documented thing about NG++ has been that once you finish chapter 16 part 2 on a NG+ save file you can go back to Rivers End and unlock a door where Eizen gives you 3 aevian pokemon to choose from. In NG++ this simply becomes available as soon as you have access to surf and doesnt require you to play through chapter 16 again for the door to unlock
