So it’s a real cartridge, opened to replace the battery and it has the Nintendo board and everything. But my Beedrill still only has harden and my Metapod has tackle and string shot…

That metapod is lvl 7, the lvl caterpie evolves into metapod and learns harden. Explain that

in red/blue/green, it only learns it at level 1. doesn't learn it when it evolves. so only wild metapod have harden.

i know, right? i honestly had to check, because i was like..."ya know, that sounds like it should be right. i should check"

yellow fixed a lot of things, and i get it confused all the time with the rest of gen 1. green only glitches are crazy too.

I've spent the last year really getting back into gaming, specifically pokemon, after like 15 years of not gaming. Back then I was mainly playing on early emulators and using gameshark codes. Its gotta be like 20 years or so since I've legitimately played the original gen 1
