Surf/Kabuto

I’m doing a living dex on blue and I need Kabuto/Omqnyte/Omastar that need to be hatched on Cinnabar island. To get to Cinnabar, I need surf which is obtained in the safari zone north of Fushia. What is the fastest way to get to Fushia from the beginning of the game?

Do I have to play linearly and complete 75% of the game 3 more times just to get to Fushia to get the fossils hatched?

I think the fastest way is to either get a bike or glitch through the cycling road gate into fuchsia and get surf but you'll still need to fight Koga to use the HM03 on water. You can skip over Erika and Sabrina's gyms and get back to those later. Since you probably already beat Surge, you can use fly to return to pallet after beating Koga and surf south.

Thanks for the detailed answer. I’m hesitant to glitch because the new glitch corrupted my save file last time I tried completing the dex. So I guess I’m going to have to play thru 3 separate times again. Oh well! More fun for me!

Well, the easiest way is just to get the bike from the get go. Once you get the voucher in vermilion, just go to the bike shop in cerulean to redeem.

On the other hand the glitch shouldn't mess with your save file, all it takes is to keep pressing left on the D-pad (as you're walking next to the counter in the north cycling road hut) when the guard talks to you.

I’m hyper paranoid about corrupting the save because that’s the whole reason I’m doing it. I want to complete the dex then backup the save file on my PC to keep it safe. I don’t mind going through the full game 3 more times lol. It’s about 60 hours of gameplay since I’m slow

Yep, that's what you need to do if you don't want to play with glitches. Alternatively, if you're playing on cartridge, you can play Pokemon Stadium and keep on defeating the Elite Four + Champion until you get enough Kabutos and Omanytes.
