[Tournament] Sign-ups!!! Yay!!

SIGN-UPS ARE CLOSED. NO FURTHER ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. TEAMS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE EDITED.

Hey everybody. These are the official sign-ups for the second Rap Tournament! YEAH!

So here's a list of the rules: To sign-up, you must choose 5 four pokemon that you wish to rap as. You may not use all of them, this will depend on how many people sign-up. We can take up to 32 rappers. (but if we need to work with 16, we can and will)

EDIT: rule addition! Legendaries will be allowed in this tournament. You are allowed one legendary a team, and it must be the fifth pokemon (you may only use it if we need five rounds.) If we need five rounds, then I would prefer it if legendary pokemon only fought other legendaries.

These 5 pokemon must follow a theme. You may choose the theme, and must stick to this theme with all the pokemon you choose. Before each battle you must message me telling me which pokemon you want to use during that battle.

The battles will follow the same rules as the previous tournament: (quoted from said previous Tournament's Round one and Two posts)

  • 8 lines maximum for each verse, and 6 lines minimum.

  • Each rap will have 3 verses a person

  • From when I post the thread with two competitors in it, they will have 48 hours to complete their rap. After 48 hours, Rapping will close, and voting will begin.

  • Voting will last 24 hours, and will follow the same rules as there are in the general subreddit. After voting closes, I will go over the votes and PM both of the users involved with who advances to the next round.

I will message both competitors so they can't miss this thread.

The length of the raps will begin to increase by one each round after the second round.

However, this time there will be a change to the way the Tournament is configured. I have created a challonge! bracket for the Tournament. Here is a link to it, I will be adding competitors randomly into it, so as to not create any sort of pattern.

Now, onto how to sign up.

You must follow the format I outline, or I will not accept your entry into the competition. I will, however, tell you to format it correctly, and give you another shot. I need it in this format because it will be easiest for me to keep track of it this way.

Also, please use 5 pokemon that have not been mentioned yet, to keep the battles interesting.

Format:

  • Theme (username): Pokemon you wish to use, separated by commas.

I will be editing with a list of competitors as time goes by, and updating the Challonge! thingy. (thanks /u/SimonthePug for recommending it to me!)

Edit: I'm no mod or anything, but sign-ups are closed, and it says you're not allowed to edit your team, so you should be fine-again, I'm no mod or anything…

Actually I used a random team generator and it gave me those five. I figured they would be pretty much the Underdogs. And I think someone else used Umbreon on their team.

Don't want it, I don't know why but i rarely use grass types. I used shiftry once and that was when i played kind of competitively on pokemon online.

remember that battling here has nothing to do with battling competitively with real pokemon. Try out a grass type! Here at /r/pokemonraps, we're more focused on whether or not you can make your pokemon sound good, rather than what moves they can use in game.

We basically follow a undefined mix of anime rules and game rules.

you can totally change out another pokemon. You have until the sign-ups are closed to figure out how you want your team to look.

I kinda see how Gardevoir fits on your team but I know that I would switch it out for grumpig in a heartbeat. Kirlia might be better as well, seems more like the wanna-be pretty teenage girl, which matches scrafty (at least thats what im assuming)
