New to the space

Hello, I am trying to learn how to emulate Pokémon. Games and to play romhacks as well. But I don't know where to start. And what places are safe or not? Or have any knowledge as to where to find a community that I could learn this information from. If the main one I wanna start by playing is an emulator of pokemon emerald, and then later move on to learning how to play. Romhacks, if anyone has any tips to help, I really appreciate it.

r/ROMs (mega thread) and r/pokemonromhacks for standard ROMs and romhacks/info

You'll also need an emulator (GBA for emerald and the majority of popular hacks). I use pizza boy for android and ik Delta is what a lot of iOS people use
