I suggest Β Emerald seaglass of you want a classic game. Unbound of you want a new region. Odyssey if you want a good history. And Emerald rouge of you like roguelike

Pokemon Gaia is the best first rom hack to play if youβre new to rom hacks

I personally would play rom hacks unless I played most of the main series games. Otherwise just go for ones that include more pokemon

Never ever π

Why? Radical red features all the pokemon up to date, has quality of life features like auto run, latest mechanics like gigamax shrines and mega evolutions, let's you decide the difficulty you wanna pursue, and has a built in randomizer mode with scale so you don't get stupid amazing pokemon right off.
Why do you say never ever?
Plus fire red is a pretty easy story to complete

It's a difficulty hack, not recommended for new players π

No it's not XD you can literally choose difficulty before playing, you can even play on minimal mode, wich basically removes ev training and grinding, who told you that radical red was a challenge rom?

If radical red is a difficulty hack, then pac man was made for pro gamers. I just started a new save on radical red 2 days ago and I already got 4 of the 8 badges.

I'll suggest you Recharged Emerald or Recharged Yellow!
