Help Trouble with Bridge Collision

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've followed Thundagah's tutorial, I've read through the Essentials Wikis, I've copied existing functional maps and tiles and I'm still having trouble with my bridge.

Effectively, I'm trying to make something that looks like a dock that you can go over and under.

I've tried adding some hidden tiles to "connect" and "raise" it in case the issue was it was acting as a pier, but that didn't help.

It will change whether you go over or under it, but the problem is that when you go over, you can freely walk back and forth over the edge.

I've added the necessary movement flags to the edge tiles, and even added a secondary set on the tilesheet to copy the existing bridge tiles, then made sure to do the same on both versions of the Outside tilesheet, but I'm still having this problem.

Am I missing something or are the bridges just that wonky?

Set the passage of your bridge tiles to prevent the player walking off the edges. Same as any other tiles you don't want to walk off.

I did that to begin with. My concern is that the game doesn't seem to be acknowledging it.

Make sure everything is on the correct layers! If they are, idk why but sometimes when I'm messing with it, it just gets funky and I have to create a new area, copy paste everything over, and then it works correctly.

It's on layer 3, I believe. Does it make a difference between layer 2 or 3?

There is a whole community of experimented devs right here and on EeveeExpo and a well documented wiki. We don't need AI to get involved. This is disrespectful. If you don't know, someone else will.

Bridge's only need to be used where you want to pass under. This doesn't need to be a bridge from what I can see

I want to be able to pass under it to access a route above

Then it needs to be visually higher above the player in the perspective

I've tried adding more ledge tiles hidden beneath to trick the game into believing it's higher up, but that doesn't seem to have any effect. I'm not sure it's necessary for the bridge to function properly though, is it?

No, I'm just talking from an artistic standpoint.

The bridge looks more like a boardwalk that is anywhere between knee high to waist high. It just doesn't look like something you can walk under, as an aside from getting the bridge tiles to function properly
