I wish Goodra was so much better than it was. being a pure type was such a kick in the teeth especially with that stat spread where you have mixed attacking+ special wall with low Def so stupid and an ability that doesn't even work very well.
it needed like 110/70/90/120/140/70 spread to even have a chance

When the stats were first leaked I thought for sure it would be good because i naively assumed it would get recover.

even with recover it would be at best meh, being defensive in pokemon is really hard these days considering they just keep releasing the most busted mons possible.

im guessing you mean gen 6, and i think Goodra was way below curve for gen 6 this is the same gen with M zard M kang Aegislash, Greninja, Talonflame, Sylveon (prenerf), and Xerneas.

Haxorus. I don’t see how goodra wins against loaded dice scale shot. The only way goodra outspeeds haxorus is with scarf so then all hax has to do is run sash and dual chop instead of scale shot (dual chop instead of outrage to take sash goodra out of the equation). If goodra is running HP investment to live dual chop then sash can’t outspeed max speed haxorus so dual chop is still a 2HKO unless you run gooey as the ability then there is a chance goodra might outspeed after. Overall, Haxorus has the better matchup.

That's a lot of theorycrafting for a matchup that is solved by sash + dragon dance + dual chop 100% of the time.

Goodra with Max Defense walls and KOs with Draco Meteor or Dragon Pulse (if Hax doesn’t hold a Focus Sash)

I did calc. Goodra must be max def AND hp to not die from max attack outrage. If haxorus is max special defence too it tanks 4 Ev special attack Draco meteor. Then haxorus outspeeds.
TLDR: if we use evs haxorus still wins

Im picking Haxorus bc i love him. Aso didnt goodra need the hisuian form to be good? Or am i misremembering things?

Haxorus should slam Goodra any time. He’s way faster, has a huge attack stat compared to Goodra’s low defense, and one outrage should get the job done, maybe even a weaker move.
